A WW1 British 2pr Mk V, this is a really rare round, as only two guns were made for trails and a limited number of rounds to go with them, complete with its fabric sensitive No 131 fuze that was designed to action on contact with the fabric of aircraft wings or that of a Zeppelin.

October 24, 1974 - Air Mobile Feasibility Demonstration - Launch of an LGM-30 Minuteman III ICBM from a C-5 Galaxy Transport

The USAF tested airborne launch of a Minuteman ICBM by dropping an 80,000 lb. missile from 20,000 feet over the Pacific Ocean. The missile fell to 8,000 feet before igniting for a 10-second rocket burn, carrying the missile back up to 20,000 feet. The missile then dropped into the ocean.

Although proving the method feasible, it was not practical, due to potential engineering and security difficulties. The capability was used as a negotiating point during the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) with the Soviet Union.
