To my children.
My biggest little, I love you so much. Soon you will start kindergarten. In these last soon to be six years, you’ve experienced so much. More than any child should have to. And it’s made you wise beyond your years.
Yet, you still have that pureness. You’ve watched your father walk away numerous times. And I’m so sorry for that. I’m at fault for you having to experience that. We’ve moved so many times in such few years.
I am so sorry for the pain you’ve experienced. I’m sorry for your childhood not having been ‘normal.’ I’m sorry you’ve had to grow up so quickly. I’m thankful for your wise words to me. Your reminders that you still love me.
