Tfone au where Orion never came back and megatron becomes ruler of cybertron and has to deal with the guilt and anger and regret and hatred alone without any war to distract her and without an enemy to fight and without any power she can chase anymore. Oh no did little baby achieve her goal too soon and is now lost and unmoored in the world and in charge of millions of lives and the management of a functional state while in a volatile, directionless haze? Oh nooooo oh no

Everyone she’s ever known shuns her for killing Orion so she’s surrounded by a bunch of manipulative decepticon high guard who are substantially older than her and also incredibly power hungry and take full advantage of her overly aggressive state… starscream is basically the scheming vizier to be honest with you. She directs megatron’s anger towards increasing hostile diplomatic tensions with outworlders to her own ends while simultaneously painting megatron as irrational and unfit to rule…. Using her as a smokescreen so once megatron gets all the blood on her hands she can swoop in and take the position. So cute so cutes . Megatron never wanted to be in charge of a state and she still hates Orion and that will not ever change but she is sooo strange about it. Elita and bee are in jail and she visits elita really often just to yell and argue with her… being angry and provoked by elita makes her forget about how hollow and stagnant her life has become.

After starscream deposes her she gets thrown into jail with elita……. Elita works with her to escape but ultimately can’t trust her ever again because megatron has become even more changed and angry and hateful from the manipulations of the high guard. So after they escape elita abandons her to create a better window for herself and bee, & megatron is recaptured and paraded around in shame before being thrown back in jail. She rots there for a few decades and then one day she sees elita, who has founded a new autobot faction and is actively fighting a rebellion, who’s finally overtaken the place of her former prison. and for a wild moment she thinks elita might be there to save her. She still thinks that the emotional attachment she feels with elita might be reciprocated, the strange synchrony they cultivated years ago through constant screaming matches while elita was captive, and through a brief collaboration to escape. She created some sort of strange parasocial hope through these brief interactions, the most truthful she had ever been to another in those days, the most ‘vulnerable’, to someone who knew of her and her past, and she really can’t stop herself from thinking maybe elita felt it too. Maybe she was a balm for elita the way elita was a balm for her… after all, she and elita have always been similar, right? but elita raises a gun to her head through the bars. and the threat here of real final death finally makes megatron find an immediate direction to take, because she can recognize the state of being powerless like a truth she can’t escape from… being powerless is something that is her unwilling home, and she always claws away from, vigorous in her denial, but which in the end she always falls towards, because she instinctively perceives it as the state of the world. In any case I think before she is killed she is filled with unrecognizable animal vigor and fear and anguish and despair that despite it all she has ended up back here again, powerless at the hands of another; specifically, elita, who was once her superior, and now is her executor… nothing has changed at all. Really nothing has changed at all. She killed millions and nothing came of it; she was still the same sniveling creature she had always been. it would be so cutes. I think before she is killed she would think — I can’t end up like Orion. Oh god. Not like this. Not like her. And she dies miserably and alone shot like a fish in a barrel as weak as someone could possibly be. YAY!!!

no im rlly onto something. ideal megatron is always going to end up dead or equivalent shes supposed to be dooming herself. i was saying earlier this morning actually on another post that the ideal megatron should always be dying, constantly. sleep being an essential and inescapable bodily process that she is subject to and that renders her powerless and representing her narrative in that way wow anon thank u for finally getting me to justify why sleepy megatron means so much to me. literally her essence. dead person
