Apollo couldn’t help but frown, “Most people wouldn’t have been able to do what you did, you should really give yourself more credit for that. And you’re not the one who contributed to the dark age of the law, you were used by it…” Apollo couldn’t help thinking bitterly about the false evidence Kristoph had given to the unsuspecting teen, or the way Daryan probably thought no one could suspect him when he was so chummy with the prosecution.
“And you know what? That makes you an even better prosecutor, because you’ve seen that dark side and been played by it, but you’ve never let it make you bitter or cloud your judgement, you’re heart’s always in the right place no matter what. An honestly I respect you a hell of a lot for that.” Apollo looked off to one side for a moment in contemplation. “I admit my first impression of you was…uh… different, I guess I judged you too quickly because you were so annoyingly cool.” He said with a small chuckle.
At Klavier’s offer his expression softened, a genuine smile so different to his cocky smirks in court. “Thanks.” It was strange really, to see Klavier without the jovial and light-hearted façade, and for Apollo to be without his sarcastic and brash manner. But for some reason this felt nice, it felt they were really getting to know each other on a new level, it was something Apollo hoped could continue too.
Before Apollo could ponder on the new depths of their conversation Klavier pulled out the picture and Apollo took it with an air of curiosity, his eyes widening when he saw it.
“Woah!” He felt a small blush rise to his cheeks. “I was actually joking about you being hot with short hair…” He mumbled to himself, as if shocked to see such a flattering picture, Klavier really was a poster perfect rock star wasn’t he? “It’s nice,” He said, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible when he returned the picture to Klaiver. Luckily their food quickly arrived, which would hopefully serve as a nice distraction from the blush on Apollo’s face.
Klavier offered a small smile at Apollo’s reassurances. “I’m afraid we’ll have to disagree on whether I was responsible or not for the start of the dark age of the law. In my opinion, I was partially to blame for the start of it because I was the one who got Herr Wright disbarred, trusting the information that Kristoph gave me. I had no reason to doubt my brother, but I should have realised it was going too perfectly”
“The whole reason I left law was because I didn’t feel as though what had happened to Herr Wright was what he deserved. I felt like something was off with the situation and only returned to prosecuting at the insistence of the Head Prosecutor” Klavier sighed a little. He wasn’t sure what would have happened if he had said no, but one thing was for certain. He would never have met Apollo, and that would have been terrible.
“That was taken eight years ago” The prosecutor explained. “It was just before everything happened with Herr Wright. The Gavinners were preparing to go on their first ever world tour. Tickets went on sale the day I had that picture taken” He couldn’t say much more as their food arrived. He noticed the blush on Apollo’s cheeks but decided it was probably best if he didn’t comment on it.
