I know. I am so sorry I haven't been around and it is completely unacceptable. But I won't let you all down I promise. I'm hopefully going to be working less hours the next few weeks and my goal is to get these replies DONE and to be more active. I'm really sorry I love this rpg and I don't want to let you down any further.Â
As long as I have you [August 19, Roslin & Edmure]
He frowned, âMaybe we shouldnât judge others out of rumoursâ, he paused. He had heard of them, of course, and he had heard of their power and their immense quantity of money. But he knew Sansa was staying with them, if they were protecting his niece, werenât they trying to do the right thing? Couldnât they be considered allies, even friends?, âWe can ask them to back us up, to - if we are discovered⌠the forging of our bankruptcy -â, he paused to lower his tone, âThey could pull some strings to help and in exchange I can offer Scotlandâs alliance in the name of Ned, right? The Starks still hold most of the oil reserves in the country and the Tullys still control the ports, even the Lannisters need those sort of friendsâ.
He sighed and turned over his shoulder to look at her, a resigned smile painted on his face, âIâm sorry, I know this isnât what you envisioned when I promised to - to make you happyâ.Â
She remembered when heâd said that; how he had promised to make her happy and how much sheâd wanted that to be true. Of course, Edmure couldnât predict the future and he certainly couldnât predict what would happen regarding the Starks and his uncle. She wanted to be able to say âno donât worry, its fine because I am happyâ â which was true, but who would believe that given the circumstances? Heâd think she was just trying to make him feel better and that would put a sour note on the day.
(Even more than the failure of a meeting with Renly).
Instead she broke free from under his arm and took his hand instead. She loved that; the way their fingers laced together just so that it felt completely comfortable. She looked up at him and smiled. âThe Lannisters would be lucky to have you on their side,â she wrinkled her nose and poked his cheek with her free hand playfully âbut you arenât the only company with ports and big boats. If youâre going to make a move you should do it quickly and while you have the chance.â If she couldnât persuade him to abandon the idea, she would offer the only advice she could as a layman.
âLondon is a big city, but itâs a small world. You might not be able to persuade the likes of Renly, but there are people around here who are far more influential and nowhere near as well-known. The little people might be enough to get you all the allies you need.â
In the back of her mind, she was thinking of her niece Cersei, and all the people she probably knew who knew the big guys like Renly or Jaime Lannister or even Stannis himself. In her mind, Edmure was better than them all, but she wasnât foolish enough to forget how he was often likely to act before thinking ahead, and how easily he could lose his temper.
She wondered what people thought of them together; a weasel and her trout. She felt small in life generally, but with Edmure she actually felt even smaller. He commanded such a big presence; he was popular among their friendship circle and he was charismatic so he was always making new friends too. She wished she could have just a taste of his confidence; she might be able to make him happier.
âI hate that this has all fallen on your shoulders, and I wish I could alleviate some of that stress, but I know youâll make your family proud.â
As long as I have you [August 19, Roslin & Edmure]
If he welcomed any advise, that was Roslinâs. It wasnât just the fact that she was with him and that they loved each other. The fact was that she could be head of Tully Industries if she wanted, with that brain of hers. Better make the best of it. âAnd we need helpâ, he said, nodding to himself, âAs powerful as the Tullys might be, we are falling apartâ, he paused to reconsider his words yet they were true, Brynden was fleeing North where Cat was stuck, Lysa - who knew what Lysa was doing in London these days, and his father was in no state to take decisions and protect the family and help the Starks, âThis fraud business will backfire without the proper influence in Westminster, right?â. Edmure hated politics and yet they seemed to follow him around these days.
âI thought Renly might be that card but - but maybe Iâm wrongâ, he frowned, when he came to London he already had that idea in mind, and yet - âWhat do you know about the Lannisters?â, he shrugged, âI heard they hate Stannis Baratheon and allâ.
It was strange to hear Edmure speak about being a Tully the ways sheâd speak of being a Frey. Since sheâd met him, Roslin had envied his genes (not only because he was incredibly attractive) and his family heritage. The Tullyâs honoured their loyalty to one another, and always strived to consider their own first. The Freys looked out for themselves, and if it benefited the family name it was a bonus. She looked up at him as they walked, watching the furrows in his brow as he so obviously tried to discover the best solution to all his issues with one quick-fire answer.
She wanted to be the person Edmure could lean on, but she was afraid he might need someone stronger. She didnât really know enough about his world and that was really what held her back. She sighed. âI just hope this doesnât last, and you can finally relax.â She missed the free-from-worrying Edmure; the easy going guy who had quite literally swept her off her feet. Now, now she saw more of Brynden in him (even though there was no way sheâd tell him that, what with the situation as it was). âWe need a vacation.â She smiled to herself, knowing that Edmure was too lost in thought to even contemplate running for the hills and sunbathing on a beach somewhere quiet. In fact, since coming to London sheâd realised just how comfortable he was being in this environment. He lived for these meeting and making deals, partly because she could see his confidence grow each time he came back successful.
This time he was not so lucky, and it was hard to see him trying to maintain his composure and not have her worrying.
âThe Lannisters?â Her father had some dealings with them in the past; he liked to have his nose as far up Tywinâs arse as possible. She knew they were a dangerous lot, but fiercely loyal to their own (something they had in common with the Tullys) âI know theyâre powerful, and that they consider everyone an enemy, not just Stannis Baratheon. Why, what would you want with a Lannister?â
Nothing in this world came for free. She found herself leaning in closer; a silent prayer on her lips that maybe heâd just let it go.

It's not really important but just so I guess other Freys know if they need to? I haven't rped as Roslin in forever and I can only just about remember what Frey Investments is up to so I made her secretary just so a) she has a job lol and b) I have something to develop her character with. Okay :-)
As long as I have you [August 19, Roslin & Edmure]
Edmure sincerely thought that his meeting with Renly would help him feel better with himself and even if the younger brother of that holy trinity did agree with him in several of the aspects Edmure wanted him to agree with; it wasnât as therapeutic as he thought it would be.
He consciously restrained himself in front of the other, from yelling and ranting about how his uncle had betrayed them all. Restraining himself is something he is not used to do, he was an explosive person but he figured that making sure that the alliance with Renly was preserved was the best for his father, sister and for Robb and all the Starks.
He was doing something quite important now. He knew the risks that came with forging bankruptcy, the Tullys could very well face criminal charges, but the safety of the Starks was worth the risk, safety and raising above Stannis Baratheon.
If Scotland wanted its independency, York would be there for them. The thought made him remember his uncleâs words; how he had turned his back on them regardless of their own family wisdom or whatever. Family, duty, honor. How many times did Brynden Tully speak of those words and try to inflict lessons on Edmure? He would have given it all to know that years later the same person would end up betraying them as he had done now.
Edmure sighed, Brynden was probably behind Stannis Baratheon now whispering advice in his ear. He smiled; yet he had the best advice was yet to leave his side anyway. The sight of Roslin waiting for him made him hurry his pace to stand next to her, he exhaled deeply, âI told him that my uncle was betraying our agreement in order to stand by Stannisâ side instead but that he can still count with the Tullysâ supportâ, he met her eyes and extended a hand to help her up her seat, âHe took it wellâ.
Edmure passed a hand around Roslinâs waist and guided her to the exit door of the floor, âBut Iâm still angryâ, he smirked and kissed the top of her head, âAngry sex tonight?â.
If it was one thing Roslin knew, it was to avoid the affairs of men, but never to stray so far that she couldnât hear them whispering. Edmureâs business was his own, but if it meant putting himself at risk it meant putting the best half of her in harmâs way too. She was content to hang off his arm and look pretty, it was something sheâd done for her father, but in the meantime there was a difference to this role than any other. She cared for Edmure, and she wanted him to be successful not only to impress his father, but because she knew what it felt like to lack any sense of fulfilment.
When he at last appeared from Renlyâs office, Roslin was part relieved and part anxious. Edmure had become something of a pro at disguising his feelings, even to her, but she could sense not all was as well as Edmure had promised it would be when theyâd arrived that afternoon. She took his hand with a smile, but did not think to hide the concern in her eyes. âRenly isnât really my concern, you are.â She slipped her hands into the pockets of her blazer and slipped into step beside him as they headed for the door. âI donât want this to backfire on you. Speaking from experience, Ed; telling tales on family rarely goes unnoticed. Nor without consequences.â
It had been a while since sheâd been worried for anyone noticing their public displays of affection; the only Freys in London were the kind hiding for her father. This time she was able to smile not with nervous laughter but with the honesty that everything was okay for now, and this was acceptable. She rolled her eyes sarcastically. âYes, after an angry drink though, I think.â
She knew Edmure was shrugging the matter of Brynden aside in favour of pretending to be okay, but it wasnât the case. She liked Brynden, she liked him a lot, and it hurt that things werenât running smoothly. The last thing she ever expected from the Tullys was a rift, but that being said the night she had met Edmure was not exactly a picture-perfect family gathering with smiles all round. It was strange, but it felt as though they were back at the beginning all over again.
Renlyâs office was a few floors up; they called for the elevator and Roslin slipped her hand into Edmureâs while they waited for it to arrive. âYou know, you donât need any of them anymore. Things have changed. Youâve changed. Youâre not the arrogant heir to a business passed on to someone else.â She nudged him playfully. âYou could be CEO. You could just own your own damn business if you like. So long as I get to live the life of luxury and you donât trade me in for a younger model when I reach 40.â

and i fell heavy into your arms [Roslin & Willas, August 7th, evening]
âYes, that would be lovely, thank you,â he tells her, watching the way her arms move as she pours. He looks down her back, seeing the brown hair fall on her shoulders, watching the way her legs curve down to her ankles. If she turns back now sheâll see him staring like a hawk, and that thought it embarrassing enough to make him look at something else.Â
Roslin takes a deep breath, and finishes half her drink; her face contorting slightly at the strength of the whiskey and the perfumed aftertaste that leaves the roof of her mouth tingling. She smiles and turns, glancing at Willas for a moment as she brings him over the bottle to fill his glass. And she sees him relax a little, sit back and for the first time she feel content that he is enjoying her company. She knows he wants to, but to see the physical manifestation of that pleasure is something of a reward.
She stands before him and places her drink on the table in front of the sofa. She rolls up the sleeves of her old green jumper and slips a hairband off her wrist; it takes her only a few moments to kick off her shoes and pull her hair back from her face into a rough ponytail, and when sheâs done she flops back onto the sofa and picks up her drink. And sheâs home.
âYouâve sat here and listened to me sobbing about home and Edmure and my nephew, but Iâve been so impolite!â She smiles warmly and sips her drink âDonât you have any stories to tell? Donât worry; I donât expect you to tear up.â It feels so welcome to feel⌠well⌠welcome, and although her heart is still beating as fast as light, she considers this an opportunity to bask in Willasâs acceptance. She finds herself wanting to please him; to make him feel as though this was the best night of his life, the night she turned up at his home and drank his expensive whiskey and sobbed like a child. Then tension diffuses, but only marginally, for she can still feel herself burning, stirring, waiting for him to move in and do something spectacular.
She watches him watch her; regarding the little movements his face makes; when he thinks to smile or frown or laugh, when he appears unsure or uncertain or lost. She likes that about him, she likes to see him unravel a little and break away. For so long she has been governed by hatred and anger that now to see so little in the way of expression is strangely desirable. A mask; a mask sheâs never been able to wear. A mask I want to learn to possess, and yet at the same time I want to see behind yours. âTell me about your work,â she asks like a wife might; wondering where her husbandâs been and why heâs so late home from the office. She considers the idea for a moment; to be married into a world like this. Maybe in one version of reality she could be, though sheâs not so certain sheâs cut out for the good life. Having been brought up in the shadows of the elite, to step into the light is to step into something unwelcome and poisonous.
Sheâd likely die in this state, but she thinks it a rather fine way to leave this world.Â
and i fell heavy into your arms [Roslin & Willas, August 7th, evening]
And while heâs told her all along that he can give her anything, do anything, itâs right now when he finally asks the question he nearly forgot: âWhat do you need?â Itâs a hollow question, and he already knows the answer; sheâs already told him. But for some reason, a dark and burrowed and damp and young reason, he needs to hear her say, You.Â
She feels a little lostâvery lost in fact, and for a moment she only pauses and her fingers on his knee become feather light. As light as her breath hitching in her throat; light as her head as it spins from one response to the other. She knows what she wants to say, and sheâs a pretty firm idea of what heâd like to hear. But through the filter with which sheâs viewing the situation, the stark contrast of reality prevails. He is not hers to play with; she cannot slip under his skin and puppet him into loving her as she has done with others before. Playing on her innocence, her naivety, her lack of confidence, she had been able to persuade others to bring themselves into her quarter and guide her upwards. This time is different; Willas does not pose as a mannequin to be shaped and moulded; heâs had years of viewing the world from the top of a very high pillar and never once has he appeared to stumble or slip.
Roslin tilts her head, allowing for her hair to fall slightly over her face and hide her rosy cheeks. To have him speak and not lose his gaze or try to make her laugh to diffuse the tension makes her feel more nervous. âI need you,â she pausesârather dramatically âbecause I know youâre good at making everything seem okay.â And she smiles the most genuine smile she can muster (which lacks being genuine almost completely) and sits back, having only just realised how close sheâd leaned in during their intense staring showdown. She blinks and looks around the room; anywhere but at Willas. When she tucks her hair behind her ear, her cheeks are neutral and sheâs regained some sort of warped composure. Her heart is still racing, but she covers it well in the way she holds herself.
âAnother thing I need is a second drink.â she grins sheepishly and scoots forward on the sofa to lift herself up. And then she thinks to play a little more dangerously for a moment. It takes her just a fraction of a second to lean close and she ghosts her lips across Willasâs cheek, and when she sits back her smile is less sheepish and more certain. âThank you.â She canât feel her heart beating at all anymoreâas though itâs racing so fast the motion is fluid and painless. Only the sound of her breath hitching even more so than before reminds her to stay alive. She stands and walks over to the liquor cabinet; each step more shaky than the last. The lump in her throat will not subside, and sheâs frightened she wonât even be able to drink anything at all and look more the fool for making the effort to leave his side.
Without looking back at where sheâd been sat, she lifts the whiskey from the shelf. âDo you want another?â she asks, but somewhere deep down inside she knows the question isnât about whiskey.
