in PART TWO our special edition of THE ROYAL TIMES released this week, we chose to explore the inspiring faces of the lgbtq+ community from the royal families around the world. from america to ukraine to japan and beyond, we’re shining the spotlight on royals that break the mold.
we’re presenting ten different covers this month, each with a different LGBT royal gracing our magazine, alongside a round table chat with all ten together. we’re aiming to cover the issues that lgbt royals still face and the ways in which their situations can improve - both domestically and internationally.

in this week’s issue of THE ROYAL TIMES, we have another familial takeover. this time, we look towards central america and find ourselves in guatemala with a set of royal siblings that rival all others.
we present three concurrent interviews: the man who wouldn’t be king, hidden depths and premiere danseuse, a profile of each member of the asturias family from a different point of view. along the way we attended events with each sibling, getting a new insight into their interests and personality outside of a traditional interview.
ELENA, VITA & VITOR ASTURIAS, allow the royal times’ more access than is usually required by a family, and prove that they’re far more down to earth than your average royal family and they’re damn proud of that.

in the final issue of THE ROYAL TIMES in this decade, we explore another princess in our spotlight on young royals, an ongoing series where we profile the members of royal families around the world aged 18 - 29.
this week, we present: warrior princess, our long promised interview with the princess of portugal after the hostage situation she was involved in several years ago.
ARIEL DI SAVOIA DE BRAGANCA, one of the royal times’ all-time favorite royal figures, answers all of our burning questions and gives us insight into her recovery and the way she’s blazing forward into the new decade.
we profile a woman who fights insecurity with unending kindness and show that even in the face of horrible events: anyone can rise from the ashes of their own trauma.

in the first issue of THE ROYAL TIMES in 2020, we continue our spotlight on young royals, an ongoing series where we profile the members of royal families around the world aged 18 - 29.
this month, we present: good kids from halifax, our expose on the insane story of two childhood best friends who were far more alike than they could ever imagine.
CECELIA REID & ROWEN MONCADA, the royal times’ favorite new duo grace our magazine’s cover for the very first time and tell their stories on their own terms, uncensored.
finally, we get the answer to the question everyone’s been asking: how do two kids who grew up on the same block in rural canada end up in the likes of high society?
