'Aspen Under Stars' Lightbox

Made of whitewashed poplar, recycled plywood, and yellow acrylic, lit by an LED strip. Features a winter aspen on the front and back, and northern and southern constellations on the sides.

This art lighting was inspired by a beautiful night by the fire, a few drinks, and warm company. The walk home in the blizzard that shut down the town that night. No sound except for the crunching of my feet making first tracks in the snow. The winter's chill felt more like a warm embrace.

Water Tower

There's something about looking out over the city and seeing water towers dotting the skyline. It solidifies the industrial nature of the landscape and affirms that there's life here that depends on specific resources. There's also a romantic old world quality to them. Did you know that even today, no sealant is used to hold the water in? The wooden walls of the water tower are held together with cables but leak through the gaps when first filled. As the water saturates the wood it swells, the gaps close and become impermeable.
