CBR named Daryl the 3rd biggest fan-favorite TWD character and Carol, the 2nd. They credit Daryl's relationship with Carol as one of the reasons fans root for him, but I'd argue it's the most significant reason and that's exactly why she needs to be a major part of any future stories for him. You take away his connection to the woman who taught him about love and self-worth in the first place, then what are we rooting for anymore? You leave out the character with the "most compelling arc," there's no way her absence won't be felt. So I really hope they come back together again to create TV magic like they always do when they share the screen.
