Patriot’s Day

An impromptu visit to Concord earlier in the week resulted in weekend walking plans with a friend who lives and works there. The timing was perfect, not only for a beautiful blue sky, warm but not hot temperatures, and an overall peaceful Sunday, we also managed to stumble into some Patriots’ Day (weekend?) festivities. 

Town was decked out in patriotic gear and more than a few historical reenacters were dressed up, including a small battalion with drums, piccolo, and musket firing. The first round of gunfire came as a shock and my cheeky friend remarked, “I think we just shot some Redcoats.” 

Two hours of catching up and strolling was just what I needed after a busy and at times stressful week. I even ended up with a sunburn, a welcome annoyance that means the sun is back to Vitamin D receiving angles - summer is on its way.
