My first post in ages.....  Here’s a rare nugget from and old cassette - The Detours doing their original unreleased song “Amoeba” later recorded and released by the Adolescents. I assume this was recorded after 1977 when they formed and prior to 1980 when Rikk Agnew and Casey Royer, both former Detours joined the Adolescents. But I can’t say for certainty as the Detours continued on without Agnew and Royer and could have recorded this after they left and before I recorded it off the radio sometime in 1981 I believe. Enjoy this in all its lo-fi glory.

FLYER #38: Fear, two shows on New Year’s Eve 1981/1982.

FLYERS #35, #36 & #37: My friend, from whom I stole the Savagebeat moniker, brought these three flyers from his archives over as a birthday gift the other day. All are from 1980. The Fleetwood flyer is actually a half sized flyer - 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

FLYER#34: The Attacked By Rats Tour in the UK featuring GBH, Blitz, Abrasive Wheels, & The Destructors. I’m guessing this was in 1983. I received this from a UK penpal / tape trader back then.

FLYERS #32 & #33: A pair of half sheet 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ flyers for the Ramones and Black Flag at the Hollywood Palladium in 1984. This is the same show that the photo of the Palladiums marquee was taken with the LAPD in riot formation featured on the cover of Rollins’ “Get In The Van” book. Both of these feature Raymond Pettibon’s artwork. See my FLYER #17 post for a third version this show’s flyers.

FLYER #31: Black Flag at the Elite Club in San Francisco on Halloween 1981. With D.O.A., Saccharine Trust and Overkill. As usual for back then, another amazing Raymond Pettibon sketch featured on this one.

FLYER #31: Actually an ad from the L.A. Weekly from June of 1982. This was my first time seeing the Upstarts. Great show as I recall, but a short set by them if I remember right. The Clash were playing a seven night stand at the Hollywood Palladium right around the corner. And I recall Mensi mentioning that before they tore into White Riot. They came back not long after with a whole new line up. Note the Pushead artwork.

FLYER #30: Riot/Clone & the Lost Cherrees at the Swan in Kingston, England. I received this from a UK penpal in the early 80′s. Not sure if it’s an original or if he Xeroxed it from an original.

FLYER #29: Actually this is a large silk screened poster by Richard Duardo for a series of shows by the Plugz with Gang of Four at the Starwood and with The Selector at the Whisky A Go-Go during May of 1980.
