He sighed softly to himself before brushing his hair out of his face and slouched in his seat. “Twelve years. Had it since I was six.” Vincent replied and looked over at him. “Surprised I made it though this long to be honest.”

And then, Kai felt guilty. Not because the boy beside him was sick, but because of all the times he had complained and whined about his own sickness that he had had for months, when there was Vincent who has had to deal with it for more than half of their life. "Oh." He said softly. "that's a long time." He mumbled, fiddling with his fingers.

"Don’t you ever just get those big knots in your hair and end up tugging like, 5 strands of hair?"

"---Nope."

Vincent began chewing the inside of his bottom lip and began rocking back and forth on his feet. It was strange meeting someone with cancer. Someone somewhat similar like him. “For how long?” He asked nervously and sat down next to him.

Kai watched the other begin to rock. His fingers tangled together and he began fiddling with his own thumbs. He cleared his throat before answering. "A year or so." He shrugged, brushing it off as if he had said only a day or two. "What about you?" He looked up at Vincent with curious eyes.

He took a shaky breath before telling him. He can’t keep it away from everyone. Even to a person he just met. “Brain cancer. Leukemia to be exact…”

"Hm." He nodded and licked his bottom lip. He hadn't really expected to meet anybody in the hospital -- none that he'd actually keep a conversation with anyway. Your turn Kai. "Lung cancer." He said simply.

The male slowly nodded his head then looked around the empty hallway, no one to be seen. “I was just about heading home. Glad I’ll be living another day.” He replied, a small tone of sarcasm in his voice and rubbed the back of his neck as he avoided eye contact. “But nice to meet you.”

Hearing his comment, Kai looked up at the boy from his feet and tilted his head slightly. "Yeah. S'always good news." He said solemnly as he nodded. "What do you have?" He asked. He had no problem asking, yet he hated being asked the same very question.

Vincent tensed slightly as the male bolted from his seat, taking a small step back to keep his balance together. “I’m Vincent. I just got back from my check up with my doctor. What about you?” He asked nicely.

"Kai." He said simply and nibbled on the inside of his cheek. You're really going to stiffen up in the hospital? The one place where your secret is pretty evident? "I was waiting to talk to somebody.. But I don't think they're here so."

Vincent sighed as he exited the doors from his doctors appointment, life giving him another day to live. The hospital never closed but for some reason, they were all telling him to go home but to his surprise, there was someone asleep on the hospital chair. He began to slowly walk over to them, tapping them on the shoulder to wake him up. “Hey, the nurses are going to yell at you if you don’t wake up.”

Kai peeked his eyes open and looked around. He rubbed his eyes and sat up straighter instantly in his seat. He cleared hi throat and looked at the other in front of him and sighed softly. "Shit" He muttered. "I didn't mean to fall asleep." He paused for a moment as he crossed his arms over his chest. 'Who're you?"
