SubhanAllah this feels so strange to see. Never in my life have I seen Al- Masjid Al-Haram empty. MILLIONS of people pray in there. I remember the feeling when I went to Umrah, my heart was so full. The principles of anti-oppressive practice are aligned with the principles of Islam.

(1) Do not speak without knowledge... and act with good manners/ humility. Knowledge without manners means that the message will always get lost in the delivery.

(2) Intention supersedes action but without action, change does not happen.

(3) Be compassionate and meet people where they are. You cannot advise two people the same way.

(4) Treat people with respect on a human level.

(5) Power (physical, knowledge, economic or influential) is a test, and the more power you have the greater responsibility you have.

If your work is done for the sake of Allah (swt) and you apply these principles, your work becomes an act of Ibaadah (worship).

*Ibaadah is only considered as a good deed acceptable to Allah when two conditions are fulfilled: 1) intention is for the sake of Allah

2) according to the way of the prophet (saw)*

As Muslims, regardless of what the work is that you do... if you practice it with the ethics of Islam, your work will always embed these Anti-Oppressive principles.
