Edvin Ryding as WILHELM and Omar Rudberg as SIMON in YOUNG ROYALS (2021â), Episode 2
no but like no one does religious imagery like kaz and inej? how many conversations have they had in the books and onscreen about religion? about inejâs faith and kazâs lack thereof? and kaz telling inej that hope is dangerous and she needs to let go and move on? but then itâs all âhe was a boy again, sure that there was magic in this worldâ and ââi feel sorry for you brekker you have nothing sacredâ there was a long pause and then kaz said, âyouâre wrongââ and kaz drowning in djel, water sacred to fjerdans, literally getting baptized and all he can think of the whole time is inej and âshe stood in the center of the tile floor, framed by white and gold, like a gilded iconâ and kaz describing inejâs voice as âthe voice that had once led him back from hellâ and inej saving kazâs life while theyâre in a church and joe trapanese literally writing a hymn for the soundtrack so that the plagal cadence where everyoneâs supposed to sing amen happens right when kaz looks up at inej above him in the church and âno saint ever watched over me not like you haveâ like jesus fucking christ doesnât it make you absolutely insane thinking about how âkaz was still the boy who had saved her she wanted to believe he was worth saving tooâ but kaz already and always will view inej as his sacred something his salvation his saint iâm literally going to swallow a rock and cartwheel off a building
My vacation plans:
The delta variant:
Crooked Kingdom, Leigh Bardugo
It was offensive
AMITA SUMAN in SHADOW AND BONE (2021-)
the true meaning of love and yearning and devotion is just ["I would come for you. And if I couldn't walk, I'd crawl to you."] and ["It was a smile he thought he might die to earn again."] and ["One minute he made her blush and the next he made her want to commit murder."] and ["What do you want, then?" "The old answers came easily to mind. Money. Vengeance. Jordie's voice in my head silenced forever. But a different reply roared to life inside him, loud, insistent, and unwelcome. You, Inej. You."] and ["I will have you without armor, Kaz Brekker. Or I will not have you at all."] and ["Speak, she begged silently. Give me a reason to stay. For all his selfishness and cruelty, Kaz was still the boy who had saved her. She wanted to believe he was worth saving, too."] and ["The ache in his lungs was unbearable. He needed to tell her ⊠what? That she was lovely and brave and better than anything he deserved. That he was twisted, crooked, wrong, but not so broken that he couldnât pull himself together into some semblance of a man for her. That without meaning to, heâd begun to lean on her, to look for her, to need her near."] and ["She'd laughed, and if he could have bottled the sound and gotten drunk on it every night, he would have. It terrified him."] and ["I can hear the change in Kaz's breathing when he looks at you... it catches every time, like he's never seen you before."] and ["She felt his knuckles slide against hers. Then his hand was in her hand, his palm was pressed against her own. A tremor moved through him. Slowly, he let their fingers entwine. For a long while, they stood there, hands clasped, looking out at the gray expanse of the sea."]
NO MOURNERS, NO FUNERALS
The prize is one million kruge. Bring me Alina Starkov.
âŠand for a moment Kaz was a boy again, sure that there was magic in this world.
The famous Crows Donât Have Any Manners scene, a commission for @brambleberrycottage! Had to freshen it up a bit cuz my Kaz default changed a Lot in a year
sometimes i just think about âit was a smile he thought he might die to earn againâ and cry
i donât know quite how to explain it but kaz & inej as a ship give me beautiful art vibes. they feel like a book of ancient poetry or a painting about life and death or an old ballad that lives in my heart. they just feel very ageless and permanent and as though theyâre something larger than what they seem. and thatâs very strange because they exist in the same universe as alina starkov and the darkling and nikolai lantsov and all these actual larger-than-life figures, but for whatever reason a cityâs dirty-handed crime boss and a girl who arrests slavers on the sea have more power than them.Â
the king and queen of the grishaverse are kaz brekker and inej ghafa. they are the realistic, hard-earned stories in the history books. they feel like gritty, dark, unconditional love.Â
these fuckers
Same. Fucking. Energy.
So everyone loves edgy Kaz, whoâs primary reaction is murder when Inej is seriously harmed, which is great and all, but like thatâs not completely unbelievably for him to do. Meanwhile Inej feels bad for killing six people to save her friends (well sorta, she says sheâll have to do penance). So what about that scene at the end of crooked kingdom, where Inej was the one who said sheâd kill the Dregs and pile their bodies for the city watch to find? Like she followed him into what she knew was likely suicide and when he fell to the ground in the fight she sprang to murder them all pretty fucking quickly. Why does no one talk about that? I loved that.
Painted some Zoyalai in honor of the Rule of Wolves release! Have a safe journey book nerds, I hope to see you on the other side alive.
Not sure how long I should wait before painting RoW spoilers. Unless anybody as objections, I think a month is an alright amount of time...
âȘin crooked kingdom, jesper, who is officially 6â2â/6â3â (as per this post), describes sturmhond (nikolai in disguise) as âtallâ, suggesting that he is of the same height or possibly even taller than him. meanwhile, zoya is said to be several inches shorter than nina, who stands at 5â9â/5â10â. these facts thus imply that zoya and nikolai have a significant height difference. in this essay i willâŹ
every since I read king of scars I wanted to draw a zoyalai kiss and I finally got around to it!
oh my god can you two stop being gross for like 9 seconds
