"Kagome! Welcome back!" Kagomeâs mother peeked in from the kitchen. "No, dear. Oh, and why are you wet?" she retrieved a cloth and approached her daughter.
Meanwhile Inuyasha had just landed back in the feudal era. He screamed,  "AAAARRRRGHH!!!!" and the well funneled the sound. Birds cawed and flew from the trees. He jumped out of the well, WET!  As soon as he landed he shook his whole body like a dog.  Then he stood up and began to pace, raging. He grasped the hilt of Tetsusaiga but resisted drawing it. Instead he just paced and snorted like a bull and shook his hair.
That crazy old priest! What was water possibly going to do a youkai except make them angry?! And what if it had been Kagome heâd dumped water on, what then? Heâd yelled at the old man and come straight back before he could kill him. UGH. Kagome was more trouble than she was worth! And so was her family!Â
He shouldnât have to be the one to go get her anyway! SHE should come back and appologize to HIM! GODDAMMIT. He snorted with anger and the claws on his feet dug into the ground and his hands clenched. He remembered the few words she had said and his heart began to pound.
"I saw everything!" "Just what am I to you?!" "I canât do this anymore, goodbye Inuyasha." With a sit mixed in for good measure so he couldnât follow.
Where the hell did she get off treating him like that? That stupid wench hadnât even let him EXPLAIN a thing! She just got mad and left, like always. He HATED that. He stood there, grinding his teeth, gripping his sword hilt.
Shippou tried to approach him but Inuyasha growled until he scurried back. But the same didnât work on Miroku.Â
"I guess I donât have to ask how it went," commented the monk.
Inuyasha snarled at him. But he released his sword and began to pace again. âItâs not MY FAULT ANYWAY!!!â he roared at the sky. He held out his arms imploringly. âWHY DO I HAVE TO FIX IT?!!â Then he threw his arms down in disgust and whirled away, in to the woods. He didnât want to talk any more. He just wanted to be alone. As he entered the trees he lashed out with his youki and cut one down.
"Oh, dear," murmured Miroku.
"You said it," Shippou replied. They watched after him worriedly. "Do you think Kagome will come back even though he didnât apologize?"
Mirokuâs face was thoughtful. âIt⊠did not seem as though she intends to.â But when he noticed Shippou about to cry, Miroku crouched down and awkwardly patted his head. âDonât worry. Iâm sure if she decides sheâs done with this quest, sheâll at least come back to say her goodbyes first.â
Shippouâs heart twisted then he teared up anyway. âStupid Inuyasha! If it wasnât for himâ! Kagome wouldâsheâdâŠâ
Miroku sighed. âShippou-kun⊠Kagome-chan could not do this wihout him, even if he is difficult. And he⊠well, you heard what he said about Kikyou. Iâm sure he will be anxious to see her again eventually, but whatever his reasons, he does not intend to ask her to fulfill Kagomeâs role in our group.â
Shippouâs heart lifted a little. âSo⊠you think it will work out?â
Miroku shifted his gaze back to the forest, then to the well. Then he smiled crookedly. âYes, I think it will.â He sighed. âSometimes I wish I had someone with which to fight so passionately.â His face became dreamy.
"Ugh, yuck! Goodbye, Iâm going to eat dinner! I call dibs on the fried snake!" Shippou scurried back to their fire.
