"I was planning on going down to the library today. They said theyve ordered new material on apparitions and wandering spirits, maybe we’ll find something."

The blonde shrugged, trying not to look uncomfortable. “His brother probably wouldn’t even allow it…”

Dustin smiled again, suddenly content. “Okay, okay. I won’t try anything then. If only so I don’t have to make anyone else suffer with your screaming.”

"Oh? Okay... Sounds interesting. Let's increase your status as the weird creepy boy who believes in ghosts!"

Sora frowned and crossed her arms. "Aaron's not that bad. He's actually kind of nice when he wants to be you know. And he just wants his brother to be happy so you should go for it. Especially since you're just making excuses."

Sora stuck out her tongue. "You suck."

Dustin eyed Sora carefully. “Sora…” He sighed. “You won’t be stuck for too long… we’ll figure out what’s keeping you here, I promise.”

The blonde shifted uncomfortably. “It just seems… normal to be around him.” His shoulders slumped in defeat. “In a world where everything seems so out of place, he just comes off to me as…” Realizing what he was saying, Dustin shook his head. “It wouldn’t work out.”

Though his face was blank his eyes were playful. “Hm. I think that’s what I’m going to do as soon as I get home. Better buy some razors on my way.”

"Yeah it just sucks having to rely on you. I just want to die already... Actually die not this. I don't even remember how I died in the first place." Sora said with a shrug.

Smirking, Sora continued her teasing. "You like him, you like him~ Go talk to him! He doesn't seem to care about the rumor of you being a creepy weirdo. Why wouldn't it work out? I mean at least you're both alive."

"Don't make me manifest and start screaming bloody murder cause I will if you even think about it."

Dustin shook his head. “I don’t care,” he assured. Because he honestly didn’t. Not in the way she thought.

"…If you really wanted me to, I could kill him." Dustin joked. He realized that sometimes he said harsh things around Sora, and he suddenly felt bad for rubbing it in her face that she was dead.

Dustin’s cheek heated up, but he tried to keep an indifferent face. “I don’t like him,” he growled.

"Sorry, maybe one day I’ll put a smile on my face with a razor and call myself The Joker."

Sora laughed sadly. "And make him get stuck in this stupid limbo too? I wouldn't even do that to my worst enemy... I've been working on exerting my power though and I think I can actually gather enough energy to make myself appear to normal people, but it's hard and doesn't last long..." 

Grinning cheekily, Sora laughed. "You're blu-sh-ing~ You so like him. You should ask him out! He seems really nice.

"That would hurt a lot, don't do that."

Dustin watched as the food splattered against the wall. He was honestly surprised. Sora’s outbursts were getting more frequent as time went on, and he had the feeling it was only going to get worse. He’d have to look into it eventually… 

"Why, so his ego could be boosted even more by thinking the crazy quiet boy’s ghost friend has a crush on him?" Dustin had the most done face ever. "Er. Yeah. He is…" He trailed off, averting his eyes.

"What an accomplishment."

Sora looked down for a second. "Sorry about the food..." 

Looking back at Aaron, Sora sighed, a sad look crossing her face. "Haha yeah... That would be real funny wouldn't it." 

Forcing a smile and bringing her attention back to Dustin, Sora said, "Aren't you gay? Hm... You two do sit around and read together sometimes. Well if you wanna go out with him or do him or anything I have to talk to him first! Or well I don't know do something." 

"You never smile!" Sora stuck her tongue out at him.

Dustin watched calmly as her hand went through the plate, feeling sorry for her. The dead couldn’t do much in the world of the living. He put his fork down, pushing his plate away and silently declared he was no longer hungry. It was rude to eat when another person couldn’t anyway.

"You mean Aaron," he clarified for her. "That’s Liam’s older brother…" Liam and Dustin never talked before, but they’ve bumped into each other a few times in the library and occasionally would just sit around each other and read.

The boy cracked a smile. Small, but not unnoticeable. “Shame he’d probably be replaced with an equally cynical ass.”

Seeing that Dustin was done with the food, Sora flung the offending piece of food into wall, angry that she could eat. The rage died down quickly, but it was a show of how being dead for so long was starting to affect her. It sucked being unable to move on to the next life. 

"Aaron~" Sora sighed. He was cute and seemed really sweet to her. She wished she was able to talk to him. "Can you tell him I said hi?" Wiggling her eyebrows, Sora said, "Liiiiaaaam~ I like that one, but in a non-I would get with that way. Isn't he gay?"

Grinning, Sora laughed. "I got you to smile though!"

Dustin sighed. “Please don’t… You’ll probably end up putting him in a coma or something.” He picked up a spoonful of the school’s terrible lasagna and let out another long sigh. ”My teacher told me I’d be better off being some cheap bogus writer than a doctor with a phD. Guess he didn’t like my essay on out-of-body experiences when in comas.” Usually, Dustin hated talking to people about these things, and if it was anyone else he wouldn’t speak at all, but he had been friends with Sora since the first day of senior year and her bubbly personality and the fact she’s dead has helped him open up a bit.

"I wonder what he’d think if I wrote about the hazards of spiritual possessions and used you as evidence."

"Well at this point I'm not really sure that would be a bad thing..." Sora said as she shrugged. The lasagna looked good to Sora... well not really the lasagna, but more so the sauce. Reaching out and sticking her finger into the sauce, Sora's finger went through it and the plate. Sighing sadly, Sora just looked around. "Dustin, Dustin! There's that really cute guy. The one with the long hair that talks like he's more than one person- What's his name? Do you know? Hm... I really wish I wasn't dead."

Looking back at Dustin, Sora laughed a little. "Yeah you could and when he calls you crazy again I could possess him, he'll fall into a coma, and have an out-of-body experience. It'd be fun~"

Dustin looked around, making sure no one was near enough to deem him crazy as he talked back to the ghost, “It doesn’t annoy me,” he denied even though it was an obvious lie. He didn’t like being talked to like a dog. “Besides, what can I do about it? Even if I beat him up he’ll probably just call me Sparky behind my back.”

"You're such a liar Dustin!" Sora said with a soft laugh. "I could try possessing him for you though I don't know how well that'll work... 'Sides that seems kind of like a creepy thing to do. Oh well..." Sora just shrugged it off. "How're your studies going?"

Sora breezed by Dustin before settling right beside him. "Why do you let that kid call you Sparky? I know it annoys the crap out of you." Sora was curious. When she had been in school, when she was alive at least, if a guy called another guy a nickname that bothered him they would fight about it and one guy would end up getting punched in the face.

"Ohhh no. I can assure that I wasn’t." He chuckled softly, reaching down and poking her nose.

Sora did her silent giggle thing before handing Aaron another note. "You’re blushing again!"

"Sora-!" He huffed and rubbed at his cheeks, shaking his head. "I’m not blushing."

Sora stuck her tongue out at him. "Yes you were!"

"Ah-" He cleared his throat and glanced away a moment, a very light blush staining his cheeks. "..’S alright." he muttered, returning the hug and patting her head.

Sora just kind of hugged Aaron tightly. "Sorry I made you angry."

Sighs. “I’m done with this conversation. They’re not good for you. I don’t care if they’re closer to your age. They’ll do nothing but hurt you, Sora.”

"Sora, come on. You know how I feel about y—mmmhhhh." He coughed slightly, dropping the notes behind him. "You know how I feel about those two…they’re not good for you."

"…God dammit-" He’s going to walk away before he says something he regrets.

Sora follows and continues handing him notes. "I wonder if Zaniel's a good kisser. Hmm... I bet he is! And we're only a year apart so we could be a lot closer, but I don't know, maybe he's not my type. Maybe I should see if Night's open or something."
