Chihayafuru
I honestly still canāt move on about Chihayafuru. I already watched its 1st and 2nd seasons almost 5 years ago, then I watched its season 3 just recently. I was so hooked up once again that I convinced myself to rewatch seasons 1 and 2, read the manga from season 3 end chapter to 230, latest.
Now its still hurt, it still bothers me that Taichi will not be her endgame. Sheās fond of Karuta as well as Arata since the beginning, even admitted that she āloves Karuta and Arata.ā She certainly is destined for Arata.
Come to think of if, during their Middle School, she never longed to see Taichi nor bothered herself to be in touch with him - like receiving New yearās card for her, text message, etc (well, off course theyāre both in Tokyo but still they were not on the same school). Few meetups and phone calls with Arata makes her romantically geared up. They both have the same goal - to be the best Karuta players in Japan and in the world. However, Taichiās goal is not to be a meijin or something ambitious as Chihayaās. His goal is Chihaya - to build a team with her, play Karuta with her and be the best team in Japan, and to catch up with Arata.
Yes it was Arata who game her the dream to become Queen, but it was Taichi whoās helping her reach that dream. Yes! This hurts, definitely the friendzone of the decade!

Chihayafuru
Arata and Chihaya is a good match. They both played and slayed Karuta with so much love and passion. Chihaya obviously liked Arata since childhood and adores him so deeply that goes beyond friendship.
But oh my god letās all admit, Taichi and Chihaya is a perfect match. It was Taichi. It was always Taichi that was there for Chihaya. He obviously just played Karuta for the sake of Chihaya but he was able to matched Chihaya and Arataās ability, he even defeated Arata in an official match and was able to be the East Qualifier for Meijin. He is academically gifted, school topnotcher, Karuta Club President, good-looking, and he has a strong and beautiful inside core - definitely a boyfriend material. But it isnāt about him being a 100% boyfriend material. Itās also not about him that should end up with her because he is always there for her, no because Chihaya never asked him to do so. But because he has the deepest foundation of friendship, love and affection with her. What she has with Arata is their childhood memories, few phone calls and few meet ups during competitions. Sheās fond of Arata because of her love for Karuta. He gave her the dream to become Queen, and she adores him so much. But after that, nothing else. They may end up together but there still a gap in their bond.
I have already watched Seasons 1-3 and read manga up to the latest chapters, 230. Chihayaās endgame is still not clear. It may be Taichihaya or Chiharata, but either ship is a good match. I want Chihaya to end up with Taichi so bad, it just so painful if this will not happen. Heās more emotionally invested with her more than Arata, and we can all imagine them as couple.
