On this the eve eve of our tour with Big D and the Kids Table, we got word that a recital over the weekend featured a tap dance to our song “Don’t Lose Hope”. Gosh, are we flattered. We might not know much about tap dancing, but we’re pretty sure this is awesome.

Hey Tumblrverse,

You know, it doesn’t seem so long ago that we ran down to Florida to do that whole Fest thing. Well, it’s been just long enough that we’ve started to miss you, the Southeast US, just a little bit. That’s why we’re hopping on this leg of our buds Big D and the Kids Table’s 20th anniversary tour this April. And we get to see our Duppie BFFs as well, which is always nice. So congrats to Big D for 20 years of music, and we’ll see you on the road!

Dear Tumblrverse,

December’s going to be a blast. We only have a few shows left to close out the year, but boy will they be something. We’re meeting up with our buddies the Slackers twice! Once in Philadelphia, and again, along with the Pietasters and Sammy Kay, in New York for the Slackers Annual Holiday Show! Really though, what a way to end the year. Can you tell we’re excited?

Dear Tumblrverse,

Well, tour is over. And that’s super sad. Sure, we’re playing in Philadelphia this Friday, and yeah, we’ll be on the road again in a minute to roll on down to Fest. But we’re home until then, and listen guys, post-tour depression is real and one day (if they haven’t already) the doctors and psychologists and scientists will pay some attention to it. But until then, we’ll just wallow in our grief with this week’s way sad Big Tunes playlist featuring:

Big Tunes Tuesday #3: On the Road Again

Hey Tumblrverse,

So the Snails are on tour, which is to say we’ve embarked on a month-long road trip. It turns out road trips, especially those lengthy ones, necessitate an awful lot of driving. (Presently, for example, we are somewhere near Knoxville in the latter half of the nine hours between Fredericksburg and Nashville. And there’s traffic!) Herein we attempt to let you in on some of the glories and perils of life on the road with a playlist including some of our favorite road trip songs. Use them wisely.
