I saw Tron Ares yesterday
NIN this, Daft Punk that.
Wendy Carlos is my God.
How is Tron Ares more of a soulless cash-grab 2010s legacy sequel than Tron Legacy, which was made in 2010???
The soundtrack was amazing, the acting was okay at best. Gilligan Anderson was the least offensive performance. The story though? Woof!
The intended lesson (I think) was "In order to really live, you need to log off". Admirable, if not absolutely rejecting the core principle of the franchise that "computers r kewl".
The unintended but much more important lesson was "Those 'disruptive innovator' tech CEOs? Yeah they are dirtbag scumlords who will lie and cheat for the chance to play god. You filthy peasants are NPCs in their playground and you exist to be expendable and have everything in your life destroyed for their entertainment and pursuit of self-actualization".
The protagonists, the antagonists, and all the side characters aside from Jeff Bridges (the humans anyways) are unlikeable jagoffs and I could not help but watch the movie as a horror film for all the people just trying to drive around in their cars while their property is destroyed for two warring groups of techbros.
The Grid was devoid of life. Unlike the previous two, where it felt like a real place where programs lived and did stuff, this was just bad guy base, "good guy" (less evil bad guy) base, and Jeff Bridges Cameo World.
Soundtrack will definitely be added to my collection. This movie will most assuredly not be added to my collection.
Director Joachim Rønning explains how the new Tron movie's music relates to the reinvention of the Grid.
Step one: hire Hollywood’s most prolific pedophile as the lead who is also box office poison.
Step two: make it look like somebody threw Legacy into an ai converter.
Step three: make it sound gritty, to fully strip away the dreamlike nature and escapist style of Tron.
🤷♂️
Step four: Blame the fans for not watching the resulting crap and then cancel the Tron franchise, calling it not viable.
Well, I watched "Tron: Ares"
It wasn't so bad
(there were 8 people in the cinema, LOL)
hideo kojima has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and just post this image again as a silent reaction to tron ares like how we all assume this was his reaction to morbius

WIP, listening to Decode by Paramore and it's just Clu and Flynn......eueueueueueueueu
Ough… my beautiful wife….
With Ares being possibly the worst thing to happen to the franchise, and the new HasLab TRON stuff definitely NOT reaching it's goal, I'm in shambles as a TRON fan.
I fear rewatching Uprising may be the only thing that can save me.
Need to see some good TRON shit to bleach my brain after watching Ares.
