Got this, today. xD
Iâm really so pissed about Sherlock Con, that I need the vent about it.
First they made us wait ages for information, then they had been vary about the little information they gave. (like some time at the end of 2014)
Suddenly, 5 days ago, comes the info that the con in fact will take place and that it will be at the end of April. Like everybody has time in April, right? No obligations for school or college or university to attend - noooo. (working people have the chance to get holidays thatâs why Iâm not including them)
And of couse there is nooo trouble with arranging flights and accomodation at such short notice. Not to mention that this could get way more expensive when not having the chance to book this stuff in advance.
Yesterday the ticket sale starts and the prices are like out of place. Basis tickets are fine but you get nothing for them. You want to gave a great con-feeling?-Pay 200ÂŁ upwards.
This is making me furious and I really had wished this would have gone better. To summarise: I wonât be there.
AMEN. They are really destroying the reputation of the show, with that kind of behavior and those prices. And that's sad. I am so horrified, that the cast and crew even agrees to go (maybe they don't know the prices they charge the fans, but I doubt it). It makes me angry, disappointed, and honestly I've lost all respect for the Event, and almost the Sherlock cast and crew who has agreed to attend. It's disgusting. And I really liked the show, but THIS make me wonder why I support it, when they treat their fans like this.
"Sherlocked" - Let the insanity begin!
As someone whoâs not living in the UK and who cannot afford a weekend-trip to London, âSherlockedâ was never an option to me. However, I feel incredibly sorry for everyone who does have the opportunity and cannot attend the event due to the insane high ticket prices. What kind of insane human being would expect from an audience that consists mostly of young teenagers (majority might even be in college/uni) to pay ÂŁ3000 to meet their favourite TV stars in person?
I get that they are famous and that they donât exactly have a lot of time to do this kind of stuff but they should remember that WE - the FANS, the YOUNG TEENAGERS - and our support made the show as popular as it is. Itâs not fair to demand of us to pay such huge amounts of money and expecting us to be thankful for it! Weâre not some insane crazy fans whoâre desperate for every tiny bit of attention the precious cast may grant us. Sorry Sherlock-Crew but this Sherlock Convention is no Thank you to the fans. Itâs just another cheap and disappointing way to make money out of something for as long as it lasts.
If you want to thank us then please release tickets for mortals whoâre actually able to afford them! Maybe - over all the glam and awards - you forgot that not everyone out there earns millions of pounds and if you create a TV show for a young audience you should keep in mind that we donât have the money people with actual jobs have (and even they cannot afford buying a VIP-ticket).
Itâs not always the most dedicated fans whoâve got the money to buy the most desired tickets and youâre causing anger and disappointment by treating fans by the size of their purse. You air three episodes every two years and weâre okay with it because we love the series but with things like âSherlockedâ you ruin it because you cause envy and disappointment throughout the fandom.
Itâs sad to say but Iâm also disappointed in the attending actors playing along. How are you living with the knowledge that people spent ÂŁ3000 on a fifteen minutes meeting with you when you forget about them the minute they close the door behind them? What kind of conscience do you have to justify that this is somehow okay?!
To everyone whoâs lucky enough to go there, I hope you have a wonderful time and that youâre enjoying it. I just hope that next time, people will be more critical when it comes to things like this. Because this is not how you treat fans! This is how you lose them!
Well said!
I am slowly loosing all respect for Sherlocked The Event
The prices for the Sherlocked Event are completely ridicules! But I am sure some crazy ass fans, have already spend houndreds of pounds for it. HELL if I am. I am not that desperate, and YES I am a fan, but I am not about to let anyone take advantage of that!Â
Carrie Fisher in QI. Now that was epic. xD
Have you guys seen it?Â
Loads of fun Star Wars references. xD
