Had to get an Uber to acupuncture as I forgot I didn't have a car and then suddenly remembered I had very little time to get there.

The Uber driver was very chatty and said "a good looking guy like you" should be married and I was like A) I'm a fucking potato mate. We both know it, B) Buy me a drink first and C) Are you trying to figure out if anyone is home as you know I'm not so that you can break in?

It's already started.

"Oh look, this flower has bloomed today just for your dad. That's a sign"

Nope, I was there all weekend and that flower has been there since Friday but you've chosen today to notice it.

Had my PDR and I didn't get sacked so that's a win.

Which is good because they can't fix my car until the 26th and it ain't gonna be cheap 🙃

Better do some stretches because these legs are going to be walking a bit and I have the physical condition of a 90 year old.

It would have been my dad's birthday tomorrow and boy do my family love to make a fucking massive deal out of that.

Once again I'm the bad guy because I didn't want to go and sit at a fucking tree in his work car park and instead decided to come back up to York to be on my own because.....you know.....I live here and have a job and don't want to sit at a place he hated, where he isn't, surrounded by plaques for other dead people I don't know and who also aren't there.

Also, what is this fucking obsession with robins and rainbows when people die!? Why is every robin and rainbow suddenly my dad sending a message? Use WhatsApp Steve, you can add a funny gif to that.

I get really annoyed when professional decorators post videos like "You stupid fuckers stop just painting your walls and buy all of this expensive equipment instead to make sure you don't look like a fucking arsehole you big stupid dick"

It's literally your job so of course you're going to want to use the best methods and tools but just tell us what they are and let everyone decide if they can/want to use them. I don't really care if my woodwork is bobbly or uneven tbh because nobody looks at it as often as I do and if I'm ok with it then I'm sure they'll be fine with it.

Don't get me wrong, they do a great job and the finish looks amazing but you're being paid to do it!

I get paid to make sure contracts are being managed but on my own time do you think I'm reading those terms and conditions? Absolutely fucking not.

It's been a long day.

Was up at 5:30 and at the hospital by 8. Had my infusion and cleared my e-mails and tried to drown out Kerry Katona and Vanessa Feltz in the background.

My car is not driveable back up to York so managed to grab a spot on the cheap midday train and head back up. Fortunately the wi-fi wasn't horrific and I was able to crack on despite the woman next to me constantly getting up but refusing to switch to the aisle seat.

Got the bus back to mine from the station, logged on to finish up and then walked to Tesco to grab some bits.

I'm tired, I'm all peopled out and it's too fucking warm but at least I'm home.

I placed an order on boots and realised the automatic address picker had selected my old address. Called them immediately and they said nah, nothing we can do mate, it'll just arrive there now and you have to hope they refuse it or that the delivery company can be intercepted.

Great. Cheers. I'm sure she's going to love my fucking shampoo.

Have an early infusion in the city centre so I got up to get breakfast in peace......fucking stupid idea as mum decided she wanted to be up early too and has been relentlessly talking at me for 15 minutes. It's too fucking early for 20 questions.

She said it's probably best if I take my car to a garage in York and I said great idea but how the fuck do you expect me to get it back up to York when they said don't drive it anywhere but to the garage.....

She said well she couldn't possibly drive it to the garage (10 minutes away) as she doesn't like driving other cars (the other night it was because she wasn't insured on other cars which I proved she was as I did her fucking insurance). Great. Cheers.

Then she said my sister still needed to get home even if she took it. I said well you have a car.....then she came up with the reason that she only had one car seat and wasn't driving my sister's car (which is HER old car so isn't a new car to her as she drove it for 10 years!!!)

I get it, you don't want to fucking help, I'll get it there myself. I don't know what she expects me to do at 5am. In the end I was like look I've got to get sorted because I've got an infusion and then a train to catch.

Can't fucking wait to get home.

My mum has no job and my sister is off for the summer holidays and for some reason nobody can fucking give me a 10 minute lift to the train station tomorrow because I don't have a car currently and an Uber here costs more than fucking York and buses run every 2 hours cos village in the midlands.

You'd have thought I'd said oh can you carry me on your shoulders and take me by foot back to York. Also, fuck you.

I hate being in this house. Mum has been drunk since the moment I arrived and I just hate being in here because it's filled with shit memories.

My friend is currently splitting up with partner and is keeping his house so he's offered me a room in the future but I feel shitty asking him to house me for a weekend every 8 weeks.

Mum just tried to chat to me and everything was about death, being a widow, menopause, her noisy neighbours (who aren't noisy, she's noisy but is too drunk to realise), her friends not reaching out to her (she doesn't reach out to them other than to call them arseholes when she's had a drink) and how shit everyone looks. The woman in Tesco, my grandma, her friend Gail. She keeps saying "love you" and I find it really hard to say it back so often I change the subject. I just don't really have any emotional connection with her. Other than frustration.

Played some darts, got shouted at by kitty (her name, not just pointing out she's a cat) and had some drinks.

So of course today I'm absolutely knackered because I went to bed at 2am and I'm a 90 year old man and I've been entertaining my nephew's all day and building Lego that I got one of them for their birthday.

Also can't drive my car back up to York cos springs have snapped so I have to get my infusion Monday morning and then get the train. Fun times. Great stuff.

I've been awake for an hour and a half and I'm already the bad child because I haven't swapped my mum's virgin package over because you know I'm trying to manage a new house and a new job and a chronic illness and she is literally jobless and has all the free time in the world.

I said give them a call, she said no.

Now she's waggling an adapter in my face and saying her phone line needs to be connected to it. She hasn't had a call on that line since 2004 so I don't think it's a priority.

Oh also I need to fix the toilet seat before I leave. Oh and the whole conversation we had on Friday, gone, forgotten, blamed on old age and menopause and definitely not 7 bottles of wine consumed within 6 hours.

Still haven't told her I have ADHD. Still haven't told her they also queried autism. Still haven't told her I'm 5 weeks into acupuncture for my visceral hypersensitivity. What's the point? She won't retain it after 12pm because that's when happy hour starts and good news everyone it's running until 11pm.

It's been a bit of a day. I always struggle when I'm off work but don't have like a holiday or anything planned. The car is not in great shape so I need to decide if I get it fixed or try and find a new one within budget. Mum is doing my head in. She's also eating the SMELLIEST foods and as someone who reacts to smells it's tipping me over the edge. I know it's her house but she leaves the plates on the side and all i can smell is vinegar and coleslaw and vinegar. I'm knackered because we upped the needles in acupuncture on Wednesday and the hangover is IMPRESSIVE. I went into the cinema and heard all the kids screaming and instantly walked out.

So now I'm eating a massive sandwich and eating pringles.

So now I'm in McDonald's and I'm watching everyone walk into the staff room because the toilets are upstairs in this one and people can't fucking read.

Still waiting.....

I need the toilet and then need to get over for my bloods. Think I might go to the cinema this afternoon so that I don't have to be in the house. Even though there's not really much I want to see.

Arrived at like 9pm, mum spoke about herself for 3 hours and then when I said I needed to go to bed because I have to be up early she finally asked "So are you enjoying York?" and I was like.....yeahhhh I'm off to bed too late.

She just kept repeating herself too because she'd obviously had a drink and I'd heard the same bit 17 times about her financial advisor. Plus she told me all about her work "friend" group and how great it was and honestly I worked there when I was 16-18 so I know them and they're just bad people.

Her actual good friends she ignores because they don't let her drink 14 bottles of wine and don't just tell her she's handling the death of my dad well even though she isnt. Instead they say ridiculous things like "Have you considered therapy?" and "Focus your attention and time on your grandkids"

Time to drive to Leicester for the weekend of hell.

I've left it as late as I can so that I can go to Tesco, arrive, bath and then bed. Fuck me.
