well “lesbian” means women and women, but “sapphic” can just mean feminine identifying and feminine identifying. and u can be a fem-leaning nonbinary person thats totally valid, and by extension u can also then be sapphic. at least in my opinion anyway.

I think ‘lesbian’ by definition includes non-binary identities, so it’s up to the enby to decide whether they think that label fits them.

It’s a bit more difficult because it mentions ‘women’ specifically, but in my opinion ‘wlw’ falls in that same ball park.

Notice how there’s a lot of ‘in my opinion’ in these reblogs? Only you get to decide which labels make sense for you. If wlw/sapphic truly speaks to your soul, I see no reason why you as a non-binary person can’t respectfully identify with those labels

lesbianism has always included non-woman, historically because lesbians have been excluded from womanhood. Lesbian has historically not only been a way to label sexuality but also gender, and many older lesbians still use it as a gender identity! many butches also don't identify as women. (and trans men have historically often been included in lesbianism but we aren't ready for that convo). In our current society the difference is pretty much non-existent, sometimes sapphic is used to include bi+ and other queer women* and gender queer people who aren't exclusively attracted to non-men . p
