John Galliano' s Comeback!!

Soooo  I was exploring the Internet recently and suddenly I came by with an article that said “ John Galliano's Comeback”. Wait. What…? I was very shocked by the news because of all the scandal he caused back when he was in Dior (you know, being drunk and offending some fans with some anti-semitic comments). Indeed, he just made his debut in London Fashion Week with very eccentric designs as always. Obviously, his bad behavior did not leave us with a very good impression of him, but truthfully this man is very talented and we are looking forward to keep seeing his new designs for the house of Martin Margiela, and sincerely expect he will not make the same mistakes again. After all, we all deserve a second chance.

  Hace poco estaba explorando en Internet y me tope con un articulo que decía  “ John Galliano regresa “. Lo primero que pensé fue ¿como es posible?. La verdad es que estaba muy impactada, mas después del escándalo que causo cuando trabajaba para la famosa marca Dior ( ya saben, estar ahogado en un bar y ofender a unos fans con comentarios anti-semitas). Pero es verdad, acaba de hacer su debut en la Semana de la Moda en Londres, con sus típicos diseños excéntricos. Es mas que obvio que su mal comportamiento en el pasado nos dejo con un muy mal sabor de boca, pero hablando sinceramente este hombre es muy talentoso y estamos ansiosas por seguir viendo sus nuevos diseños  para la casa de Martin Margiela , y esperamos sinceramente que no vuelva a repetir los mismos errores. Al final de cuentas creo que todos merecemos una segunda oportunidad.

     GOLDEN GLOBES 2015

        FASHION FAIL 

 Yesterday were the Golden Globe Awards, and I have to say that fashion- wise, they were a total failure to us. Looking at the dresses the famous actresses wore, I was completely disappointed by how unflattering and silly they looked. Seriously, what is going on with the designers this year? I know they can do better and hope they will next year. Here are examples of what for us were just some of the horrible dresses we saw on the red carpet; I mean just look at Melissa Mcarthy, I can totally imagine her with a white wig and she could definitely resemble George Washington. And Jemima Kirk, what was she thinking? She looks like a big white bat! , and lastly, Tina Fey, I swear you could light some fire under her dress and she’d probably fly away like a paper lantern.

  Ayer fueron los premios Golden Globes, y tengo que decir que tratándose de moda  fue un fracaso total para nosotras. Al mirar los vestidos de las actrices famosas, quede muy decepcionada por lo poco favorecedores y ridículos que se veían. De verdad no entiendo que le paso a los diseñadores este año y espero de verdad que mejoren y nos apantallen en los siguientes premios. Aquí puse unos ejemplos de lo que para nosotras son solo unos de los pocos espantosos vestidos que salieron en la alfombre roja. Solo con ver a Melisa Mcarthy me la imagino con una peluca blanca y se parecería a George Washinton. Y Jemima Kirk parece un murciélago gigante blanco! Por último, les juro que si le prendes fuego por debajo al vestido de Tina Fey podría salir volando como una de esas lámparas de papel.

Bienvenidos, somos The Style Element y ésta es nuestra historia…

Nos conocimos en la Universidad mientras estudiábamos la carrera de Diseño Gráfico, la cual en realidad no nos gustaba, pues sabíamos que la moda siempre había sido nuestra principal pasión. Así fue como cambiamos de rumbo al salir las tres para seguir nuestro sueño en la carrera de Diseño de Modas. Una vez graduadas nos pusimos en contacto  con la idea de hacer una página de moda. A una de nosotras se le ocurrió el nombre de “The Style Element” mientras ayudaba a su hermana a estudiar química y nos enamoramos de la idea.

El proceso de sufrimiento… ah no… perdón, de crear la página fue muy difícil ; nos tropezamos una y otra vez. El camino no fue tan fácil como creíamos, al contrario, fue todo un reto. Nos dedicamos a investigar, aprender, programar y editar: básicamente exprimimos nuestros cerebros. Como todo proyecto, pasamos por todo tipo de emociones, a veces hasta con ganas de renunciar, pero aun así no perdimos la fe y seguimos luchando hasta lograr nuestro tan deseado objetivo.

Welcome, we are The Style Element, and this is our story …

We met in college while studying Graphic Design. From the beginning, we realized that this area was not our passion but Fashion Design was. When we noticed this we decided to drop out so we could study our respective Fashion Design majors.

Once we graduated we got in touch with the idea of creating a fashion themed web site. One of us came up with the name “The Style Element” while helping her sister study chemistry, and we all fell in love with the concept.

The suffering process… oh no… sorry, the creation of the site was very difficult; we stumbled over and over again. The process was not as easy as we thought; on the contrary, it was a big challenge. We dedicated our time to investigate, learn, program and edit: basically squeezing our brains out. Like all projects we went through a lot of different emotions, we even thought of giving up, but despite everything we did not lose faith and persevered until we achieved our expected goal.
