just wanted to say smth here ... (same thing of what i said on twt if you saw that) but i've seen some posts abt getting queerbaiting and i don't think that's the case. bad rep, yes, but not queerbaiting. laurent is canonly bi. that's that. but this isnt what im making this post abt it's abt edaurent !!! it may have not been shown that they're canon but there are many hints that laurent loves him romantically, and i think the main hint is the symbolism of objects. in each case, everyone is shown holding something that means something to them. (makoto's cat toy reminding him of his mom, abby's medal reminding her of her ballet shows, cynthia's drawing of a ring reminding her of thomas and now laurent's ring reminding him of dorothy.) he fell in love with her but she simply didn't want to settle down with him. she was an independent woman, wanting to be free. after years of thinking that she died, laurent finally let her go (and the past) by throwing his ring into the water. then in the next scene (WHERE HE WORKS FOR THE WHITE HOUSE HELLO LMAO) he holds up a capsule toy. this capsule toy relates to makoto in case 1, basically his whole symbolism. in the scene we can see laurent fondly smiling at it, holding it the same way he held his ring. he's still recovering from dorothy, but he found someone else new to love. as i said, each character is shown holding something dear to them. in this case, love. makoto loved his mom, abby loved dancing, cynthia loved thomas, laurent loved dorothy but now he loves someone new, makoto. even though it may not blatantly state it, there are many clues to show that he's in love with him. thank u for listening edaurent on the brain 24/7
