Why can’t you let the past go?
Ever.
You never hear any race that was ever once oppressed, dig up the past. They all move on. My Grandma was a Romani Gypsy, her people have been killed, oppressed, everything. I never think about it, I never use it against people. The actions of the past, don’t reflect the actions of now. If they did, then we could all say all of us are oppressed, because if you go far back enough, someone somewhere has been killed or oppressed in their family tree.
You’ve never felt the pain of your ancestors, you’ve NEVER come close. And it’s offensive to your own ancestors to say that you have.
Let the past go, I’m not going to apologise for something I wasn’t a part of. My ancestory stems all across the globe, Nigeria, North Africa, Central Asia, Baltic states, Norway, Scotland, England. To the eye, I’m white. But who knows what my ancestors did? I don’t, and it doesn’t matter, I’m living in the now.
