you know what rips my heart out of my chest like the babysitter did to bart simpson is that we don’t really get to see sam like... REACT to the fact that he learns, after going through essentially every horrifying traumatic experience you could go through, that the god he’s prayed to every day for years DOES exist, and it’s chuck.

and it’s not even, like, he was somewhere out of reach or absent or uninvolved in what was happening to sam, that sam prayed about, that sam prayed for absolution for and prayed for release from. he was there, and he was writing it down for some crappy paperbacks, and he was selling it. he was selling it and letting people consume it.

every heartbreak, every horror, every worst broken moment and regretful argument and every time he was called a monster and every time he failed the people he cared about. god put it in a book and sold it and let people on forums argue about sam’s worth. only god can judge you but he’s passing the job on to thousands of people online. it was bad enough when it was just chuck, a schlub who didn’t know any better, but then it’s god.

sam prayed to god and said “help me, please help me, i need you,” and god didn’t just say no, god laughed and ignored him and took notes and sold his pain in paperback. betrayal at the absolute highest level. and we don’t ever see sam really deal with that. and i’m going to start a riot in the street
