everyone born to this earth should be born equal, to societies free of white supremacy and systemic racism, where every soul of every shade and colour has the same opportunity to achieve and contribute the most great and powerful things their hearts and minds can imagine.

they shouldn’t fear paying by cash or card or check, in case they end up face down on the concrete with a killer’s knee on their neck, choking them to death. they shouldn’t fear the hatred of their own leaders, who brand them thugs and think it’s okay to shoot them for demanding better of their society. they shouldn’t fear the people who are sworn to protect them, or the fact that their loved ones will never get the justice they deserve simply because of their skin. when we bleed, we all bleed red.

the earth has been a sick place for far too long, a place where far too many who are born are not born equal. black lives matter— yesterday, today, tomorrow, always.
