Hi! We are tarantula collectors in New Mexico, and we have so much to share it’s a little overwhelming! We are excited to announce that we just took in the entirety of @thetarantularoom‘s collection, as well! Stay tuned for tailless whip spiders, scorpions, maybe the occasional reptile, amphibian, mammal, or bird as well! And of course, a plethora of T’s!

Greetings Lovely Pider people! The Tarantula Room Blog Tumblr may be changing hands in the near future.

It was a bit of a melancholy weekend for us here at the Tarantula Room. This last week I learned that I am being given a much better position with my current employer, and will be moving before the end of the year. This is great news and we are so excited! The down side is that due to the climate and accommodations in our future home we will not be able to take our invert collection with us. This weekend our entire collection of tarantulas and scorpions was moved to a new home. They are wonderful and very capable people whom we know personally and who already have a large number of inverts. They will all be well loved and cared for but we will miss them. They will be taking over the blog for me and I will pass you all off to them. Please follow and enjoy @tarantulafix Thank you for the support, questions, and follows. We will miss everyone. -Alex-

Although these species are of two different genera, they are both considered "bird eaters" on account of the giganticness. I wonder if that's why Germans call tarantulas "Vogelspinner." These guys are both well beyond the 6 inch Mark. The Lasiadora is more then 8"!
