A doodle of Leon dealing with the effects of his curse, as well as what his left arm is slowly turning into.
The negative effects of the curse aren't obvious at first because Leon uses it sparingly and he hasn't been in a fight long enough for the effects to become so blatantly obvious.
Sure he may feel a bit drained after he's used it for a bit, but so far he's not seen anything too abnormal or alarming enough for him to consider to stop using it.
This all changes when he encounters Margit, the Fell Omen in castle Stormveil with Luis and Sherry, and this sudden arrival of this new skilled foe pushes Leon to depend on his curse heavily, and as the fight stretches on, he begins to feel...off.
The noises around him begin to fade and warp, his veins chilling until they felt like they were cutting through his skin like knives. The muscles in his left arm twitched and seized uncontrollably, to the point where he forsook using the limb entirely, and just let it hang there limply against his side while he used his great sword with only one hand.
The worst side effect was the anger. It wouldn't dissipate, instead it just kept building up inside him, so much so that it was making him dizzy. It was almost unbearable to even think and the only time he felt relief was when his sword cleaved into flesh and bone.
Even when the fight was clearly over, and it turned out their foe was simply an illusion, Leon was still trembling. He looked delirious and manic, so Luis approached him cautiously, knowing something was wrong as he was not responding to his name.
And just when Luis got close enough, Leon's left arm suddenly snapped out like a coiled snake and tightly clamped itself around Luis's throat. Luis frantically struggled against Leon's worsening grip, desperately saying almost anything to get through to Leon in order to get him to stop-!
-and thankfully something works, and Leon snaps out of his haze and rips his arm away from Luis's neck, holding back the attacking limb in abject horror as he watches Luis sputter for breath.
((If you've watched the movie Princess Mononoke you know EXACTLY how Leon's arm is behaving right now. It's VERY similar to how Ashitaka's cursed arm behaves in the film.))
((Leon's arm doesn't look like that at first, but as the journey goes on, and the more often Leon uses his curse, the worse it will get.))
((Leon is the only one who knows that his arm is changing and he kinda hides it, which is easy considering he's wearing his armor the majority of the time. As to why he hides it, well his logic is that there's nothing they can do about it, so why have everyone else worry about it? Besides it's not a big deal, he can handle it.))
