For my Jane Austen people, what are your opinions on BBC S&S 2008? I feel like people either love it or hate it and there's not an in between and im curious as to what makes you lean one way or the other

The system is failing.
The system is patriarchal.
The answer isn't matriarchal, it's egalitarian.
Historically, in spirituality, the teaching of masculine and feminine is rooted in the idea that the only way we can celebrate the feminine is when it awakens in men. Women are commonly regulated to the role of mother, goddess, or vessel for manifestation -- a beautiful, revered, background character in the awakening of men.
A world that believes God is a man and we were born in his image, is a world that will deny the fullness of itself and the beauty, intellect, and power of women. A world that sees power and safety in physical strength will continue to deny the power of rationality, harmony, and discernment.
The truth is, the suppression of woman is far greater than the physical abuses perpetrated upon them. The suppression is embedded in our language, our definitions of success, and the very nature of how we worship our idols.
A radical awakening among women is inevitable. Men will not set woman free, women will do it for themselves. Women will not set men free, men will do it for themselves. Freedom comes when we are willing to look at the world and see it as it is and still be willing to love it into wellness.
Wellness will arise when we come together and we lead together.
Our ancestors knew this truth.
We are better together.
When we value what we bring together, we will be free.
We love you, together.

My resolution last year was to do one thing before bed that would make my morning feel easier, and that’s become a daily habit that I’m carrying into this new year.
Some nights even filling up the kettle and setting an empty mug out for my morning tea felt hard. But I was always thankful for it in the morning.
Other nights, one thing would lead to another, and I’d wake up in a clean house with everything ready to go.
And, on a rare few nights, the one thing that I could do to make my morning easier was going straight to bed and allowing myself to rest.
What stayed the same each day is that I would take a moment to think of what I could do for my future self and do it, even after a hard day. And I would wake up knowing that I had done my best and any effort—no matter how small—was a kindness to myself.
I’ve been doing a lot of “a treat for future me” moments lately.
That’s a great way to look at it, and I love this artist! (Anna-Laura: instagram / website)
