Hello !

Welcome to my catholic blog, mostly reblogs and likes here but also some thoughts as a girl who grew up atheist who is reading the bible with the hope to begin my official conversion once I finish reading it for the first time !

I’m still learning so please educate me if I say something wrong.

Some facts about me :

- I study English Literature in university (we also were advised to read the bible to better understand literature)

- I’m currently reading and analysing Magnifica Humanitas

- I’m woke (well we are on tumblr so that’s not a shock)

Hi guys :) asking for your opinion this time

I want to start going to church. Do I go to the local church (litteraly in my street, less than a minute walk) or to the cathedral (10mn walk)

Pros & cons of each :

Pros & cons of local church :

- small church, community probably already formed and everyone probably knows everyone

- literally in front of my house so every time i have to go somewhere i have to pass in front of it

- apparently transphobic ? My friend who told me this was also Protestant when she went so I don’t know if she means my church or the Protestant church further in the street

- I know for a fact they do adult cathecism

- also has local traditions and stuff like clothing traditional to the area, I am not from this area of the country and thus don’t have these traditions

Pros & cons of cathedral :

- tourists. Have to wait in line to get in

- beautiful gothic cathedral

- some days in July and August daily mass is canceled, I think due to tourism ??

- has an area privatised for non tourists

- a bit further from my house (but really not a pain to get there)

Uhm.. very shy to ask but how do I thank God ?

He granted me something I really wished for but I don’t know how to thank Him. Do I just go “Hi God thank you so so much” or do I have to “Dear Heavenly Father, I thank thee for the gift that you offered me today” ?? I know He know my heart but is there a proper formula to address Him ??

Pictures dump of a museum I went to

Please pray for my mom whose house was caught in a fire. Thanks to God, the fire stopped right in front of the house itself (literally in a 3 feet radius around the house) but her whole garden burned down, including trees that were centuries old. Her dogs were outside and inhaled smoke too.

Please pray for her mental health as she was already fighting a mental battle before that and is now getting worse. Please pray for her garden to grow back with flowers and trees.
