What would it take to get you stay at JFK Airport - voluntarily? The new @twahotel opens this Wednesday and I have to admit, a rooftop pool with plane ✈️ views and Connie, the newly-renovated TWA aircraft turned bar and day stays (for travelers with long layovers) has definitely piqued my interest. I’m planning a trip to the 512-room TWA Hotel later this week, with my first stop to historic Eero Saarinen-designed Sunken Lounge. We were in Lisbon exactly 9 months ago and to say a lot has changed for the both of us would be an incredible understatement. There are few things I love more than room service! 🛎 Something about a cart arriving with everything you want to eat and usually on a white linen table, only to be quickly swept away the moment you’re done [or at least that’s the intention]. No dishes to clean or hassle and sometimes you get lucky and the food’s good too! 😂 While the travel industry continues to evolve, I don’t think I’ll find a love greater than my love for lazily eating room service in my bed - the bed I don’t have make! Packing 101 (you’re welcome). •• 1. Pack more than once. Lay out the clothes that you think are going into your suitcase and then start to deduct - once you really look at everything you’ll realize that you don’t need everything you thought you needed when you first started packing. •• 2. Roll your clothes. People think it takes up more space, but when you roll your clothes you can actually move and shape them in different ways to make them fit better. •• 3. Use shoes and hats to hold other smaller clothes such as socks, bras, underwear and bathing suits. Leave no space unused. •• 4. Buy local. Unless you’re going to Guam there’s probably a store there and if you forgot something, you will be OK. •• 5. If you are checking a bag put one set of clothes (clean socks, underwear, bathing suit, etc.) in your carry-on just in case. •• 6. Pack travel laundry detergent such as Tide packs or @flight001’s laundry bag. You can wear things more than once.
