Hi! Hope you are doing well! Can you share more about the TDIAHM reboot? Is the story changing? Will the art style change significantly with the story board/ paneling? Will it continue where it left off or “start over?” Ahhh looking forward!! Thank you!

TDIAHM is going through a fresh reboot from the beginning. The story is essentially the same with some tweaks that I think make the progression and characters stronger overall. Art-style wise, I’ve been experimenting a lot with my short comics to see how I want to tackle this long-format, so something like my recent work!

B/W because I just do not have the capacity to do full color for such a long format at this time 😅 but perhaps certain scenes with have splashes of color (haven’t decided yet)

It was better than last year, I’ll tell you that! Tried to take it a bit more casual and visit less parties/people. Sometimes you just need to focus on the immediate people in your life for one holiday season, and that was real nice this time around :)

That is so sweet! My partner said a similar thing, that it reminds them of backgrounds to old animations, and truly that IS a high compliment. I love love love paintings as backgrounds- even in more practical live action cinema

Thanks! ❤️ I am sometimes incapable of not being detailed, it’s honestly a struggle! Something that helped me in the beginning is collecting some references and resources- art that I admire and look up to, then just do some 1:1 studies. It’ll make you mentally and physically practiced with how to recreate a certain look in Procreate (through brushes/pressure/strokes). Then you can use what you learned to apply to your own creations. Taking a look at procreate’s official tutorial videos is helpful too! The program is GREAT for beginners in my opinion, great for sketching, great for getting initial ideas down. So much so that I still do most of my work on it. I know there are limitations, but it has such a great personal feel to it. I hope you enjoy the it as well!

It is not often that I take commissions, and unfortunately at this time I am a bit too busy with personal life and other projects, but when I do have open availability I will make a public post about it with more information- ie what kind of commissions I’m able to take on at the moment, how to contact me, and rates. I just wanted to drop in and say I really like your art style! Your comics feel very classic superhero comic book (something about the blocking and shading, I think) and it's striking, distinctive, but has a very nostalgic feel to it.

While I have always been a fan of high contrasts, I’ve recently been studying Marcos Mateu-Mestre’s books. I would greatly recommend them for anyone who is interested in producing comics. You can probably find at least a few of these as free downloads online easily!
