an important skill to cultivate in fandom (and in life) is the ability to tell the difference between somebody who is engaging in thoughtful criticism and somebody who wants to make themselves feel important by making you feel bad

*sees whatever the fandom is doing* there's a really good story happening on the actual show if you want to watch that instead
Sometimes you just need to listen to the same song for an entire afternoon
To disregard canon you must first interact with canon
The prettiest songbird in all the lands 🕊️🌈😻
Book Lucy gray is so colorful and fun I love her 💖💖
Idk what else to say… love ya 😽💕
best kinds of characters either:
is/has been an active suicide risk
doesn’t or cannot consider suicide a real option and so is left with an inarticulable feeling of circling the drain
unhealthy codependency is really a top tier dynamic. like they need each other to survive but god. should they.
in honor of folklore's impending birthday i wanted to share my favorite memory of my quarantine job ever, which is when i was playing the album during one of my shifts on release weekend, and I had a customer came up to my while this is me trying was playing and asked if i was okay LOL
oh blorbo from my shows? haha yeah man i love that guy. i hope something terrible happens to him in front of his loved ones that he barely survives and i get to watch.
If Your Scene Feels Lifeless, Someone Is Being Too Polite
Stories stall when everyone behaves. Real tension appears when someone:
• asks the wrong question • says something they shouldn’t • notices something uncomfortable • refuses to drop the topic • misunderstands something important • interrupts at the worst moment
Conflict doesn’t always look like shouting.
Couple more options for tension:
They want something REALLY REALLY REALLY bad, but for some reason they can't ask for it -- or can't have it even if they did ask.
They don't notice something that the audience HAS noticed (like in a horror movie when the monster is sneaking up behind the protagonist, or if someone drinks a glass of unboiled water during a cholera outbreak because they don't know about germ theory)
Takes a risk (or otherwise does something they "shouldn't" do) which the audience has to sit through for a prolongued period of time (e.g. slips away from the party to go into the host's private office and rifle through their papers before the guards catch them)
Loses when they thought they were going to win
Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

Guys I'm sorry, I know that Peeta reopening the bakery after the war is a very popular headcanon, I can see why and I kind of enjoy reading stories with this hc in it, but realistically I don't think he would do it.
The bakery is the place where he was abused as a kid, the place where his family decided to stay instead of moving out with him to the Victor's village, the place where his entire family was massacred.
I do think he kept baking, that’s canon after all, but not for a living, not as a job. I think at the beginning while they were reconstructing d12 he did bake for the people at the district, but as new people arrived and the bakery eventually reopened he stopped, and only baked for Katniss, Haymitch, and whoever was close to him post mockingjay. He didn't need the money after all, he didn't have the need to take a job that takes so much time and energy.
I do have a headcanon of what he did with his time post canon, though. I like to think he became the art teacher of district 12's school when it eventually opened. Think about it, he's like the only person in the district who had access to art supplies before the war and can paint, not a lot of people in d12 had time for art, so he must be one of the few who can. and he's good with words I can see him as a great teacher
Anyways just my headcanon
not to be mean but you just know that some ships only get popular because of a widespread (and totally ooc) fanon interpretation of one or both characters
