If you don’t know how then you need to start somewhere.Grandma Kathie's Crochet Cuties has been creating truly beautiful and fun crochet items for our shop and NOW YOU TOO can learn some beginner stitches from G-Ma K herself. All supplies will be provided for you and you will learn a few beginning techniques and also take home a finished project. The class is just $8.00 and must be paid in advance to hold your spot. Space is limited so you will need to reserve your place early. Classes will be held at the Ozark Mountain Home and Harvest Shop in Midway. We are just a block in from Hwy 5 N. On Hwy 178 . Hope you can come and bring a few friends.

I made this set of Unpaper towels for a dear friend. They consist of 12 inch by 12 inch pieces of fabric. Lots of sewing shops offer fat quarters (1/4 yard pieces of fabric) for only $1.00 each. It's a very inexpensive way to get your CRAFT on. You can choose 2 or 3 pretty fabrics that compliment each other, or use just one fabric. Cotton is best. It's easy to work with, wears well, and comes in so many colors and prints. For the back side of the UNpaper towels, I used actually towels ($1.95 each at Wal-Mart). The tinner towels work best because if the towel is too thick they won't stay on a roll. I cut 12 inch pieces of towel. With the zig zag stitch, I sewed the 2 pieces together. I used sew on velcro (2 pieces per side) to attach them together into a roll. We've been UNpaper Towels in the house every day. I have made my own patterns for a few different projects that I love to sew. These little chickens are pretty easy to make. The beak and comb have to be sewn into place (on the inside) during stitching so pin them into place first. Sew right sides together around the edges, leaving a 2 inch gap so you can turn it inside out. Once you turn them inside out, you just stuff them and close the hole. I sewed on buttons for eyes but you could use felt if you prefer. Happy Crafting! ~ Andra, Novak's Micro Farm.
