NO LONGER YOU
Oh wow I just remembered Eights, hope the goober is doing well!
The goober is doing very well! Him and CW have been chilling in the back of my brain, sipping martinis and relaxing
Candle Wick is my platonic here me out. Like I can fix him platonically. He is my best friend. He's so skrunkly I love him
Happy spookmas!
making quick candles
i figured this out little while ago and thought i’d share:
so i have a wax melter which i use to make my room smell nice
i also have a bunch of glass tealight holders.
i use either the wax melter or maybe a double boiler if i’m using a lot of wax, i melt the wax and get some string, (if you want to make your own wick) and cut a piece long enough for the tealight and drag it through the wax before putting it aside. it’s a LOT easier to use premade wicks since they have the metal base and wont fall over.
then i wrap the wick around like a pencil or something to it’ll stand up and let it rest in the tealight holder, touching the bottom, then i pour the rest of the wax into the tealight holder and set the whole thing aside to cool, once the wax hardens you should cut the excess wick and you should be able to pop the candle out by either turning it until it doesn’t resist being pulled out or by running the glass under some warm water just long enough for the candle to stop gripping the sides.
these can be used as an easy candle for spells since they are quick to make and you can just use any leftover wax to make them!
i like using scented wax melts and then when they start losing their scent from being melted i turn them into candles!
I taught a candle making workshop and build a few wooden molds as proof of concepts. Turns out the molds worked really well, so I ended up using them for the workshop anyway.
Yay engineering background informing woodworking projects!
