another thing I've noticed which ties maggie and taxi together:
They both have darker skin compared to the others!
They're also both pretty remorseless killers.
Did they just write this in every titan tales book and hand these out to followers as kids?
Alternatively, Titan spends a day signing books of kids he really likes. Just them tho.
It’s connected to his throat, so you’d think it’s for eating or breathing. But he’s got an oxygen mask helping him breathe, and I don’t think he needs help swallowing.
I guess I need to get back to watching Grey’s Anatomy so I can figure it out!
The tubes there so he can smell and breathe in his own throat juices. Otherwise he will die of lack of throat juices.
BNHA 236 Spoilers
Portuguese scans are out for the new chapter, and the thing, the really suspicious thing, that jumps out to me is what a huge CALAMITY it all is.
I had always assumed that when the Shimura family was killed, it was a fairly quiet affair overall, and Tenko fled the scene afterward. It wouldn’t be a long time before e.g. Hana’s teacher or someone from Kotarou’s office showed up to check on the family when no one answered repeated phone calls, but you could get a few days before the police got involved, particularly if it happened over a weekend. You’d need at least a day or two, because it doesn’t make a very convincing wide-scale condemnation of hero society’s failure to save a child if the child is only left sitting for an hour or two, after all. For All for One’s first words to Tenko to hold any weight, Tenko had to have been in need of help for at least long enough to begin to process that help wasn’t coming. Far easier to get that timeframe if no one noticed the deaths right away.
But with what we see in 236? That whole theory goes straight out the window.
I think the implication is that Shigaraki was presumed dead, considering everyone in the house was smeared on the ground in a pool of mixed dna. (This being the first time his quirk manifested, its probable people thought it was a villain or something.) The thing about young Shigaraki at this point was that he idolized heroes, but probably would want to avoid them since as a child he knew that he had committed murder and would want to escape the consequences even if he didnt fully comprehend that sorta thing. Which would kinda make his previous backstory contextually different. AFO collecting, adopting, and training Shigaraki as a big fuck you to All Might well before their near fatal battle makes things seem even stranger. AFO probably can sense his little brothers quirk and their user's abilities and probably saw the incredible strength of All Might, but did he really plan on becoming a ruined wreck? It seems like AFO genuinely wants Shigaraki to succeed him as master of all crime in Japan, since he saved his ass from being blown to pieces by All Might during the Police Raid. I would really like to think that the disillusionment of Shigaraki was purely coincidental to AFO, but it really seems to be panning out that AFO was targeting Tenko ( or maybe Hana too since I mean why just put all your eggs in one basket. ). In that case, it's possible that AFO solely engineered events to be in his favor, from giving Tenko a quirk to making sure he stayed isolated, and cunningly carved a backup plan while his primary plan was to Kill All Might and be Emperor of Evil. But I wouldnt like this outcome.
Ya know these recent updates have me wondering if strat was human or some other species before being titanfied or if they’re one of those incubator fetuses we saw 🤔
What are your thoughts?
Six was always Six, imo. Regardless of if they had a past before Titan. Six is only Six because Titan has mold them into a perfect proxy. Basically different people and different souls, since those exist.
The prevailing theory for what just happened in Hero Aca (screams forever) is that All for One was the mastermind behind it - and that could very well be true, we’ll have to wait and see - but know I’m wondering of the possibility of it being the exact opposite:
That AFO didn’t know a damn thing about what just happened (seriously, I am still stunned by that) until days later. It’s possible he at best kept a vague eye on the Shimura family as they weren’t really the most valuable pieces on the board since he had already killed the one person who’d care. He just swooped in and took advantage of the situation once he found out about it.
Wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen him do something like that. That’s basically what he did with the I Island Incident - swooped in on an already existing plan to get his name attached to it just to piss off All Might.
I’m just saying it’s possible.
Some people think Tenko/Tomura was evil all along and that chapter 236 supports that theory. But is it really that simple? Why would Horikoshi try so hard to make a point that Tenko was a kind boy, just to suddenly turn around and say he was evil all along?
He shows us that Tenko was kind enough to play with kids that were left out by everyone else. It’s pretty obvious that he actually loved his family. He spoke fondly of them. We also know that Tenko really just wanted to be a hero. He was so full of joy when his sister showed him that their grandma was a hero too and that they could become hero siblings. But his dream was crushed by his father over and over.
At this point we know that Tenko was a victim of abuse and we also know that the rest of his family didn’t help him. They just watched it happen. He felt left alone and betrayed by his family. It’s pretty common for a child to say that they hate their family, when they’re sad or angry and feel hurt by them. But that doesn’t always mean that they really do hate them.
It’s more likely that he only wanted the bad things to stop. He wanted his family to stand up for him. To support him. He even said that this time Hana should prove herself and protect him. There was never a sign that he wished for something bad to happen to any of them.
Tenko was just a traumatised 5 year old under immense shock. He was abused and never got the help and support from his loved once that he was looking for. He saw his family disintegrate right in front of him. Blood and bodyparts everywhere. Everything around him was breaking apart and he finally realises that this was happening because of him. How do you imagine would a 5 year old feel in that situation?
After the effects of his quirk stop for a moment, he calls out for his father and says that he’s sorry. At this point Tenko still hasn’t realized that his quirk activates when he touches things, so he puts his hand on the ground and unintentionally activates his quirk again. Of course he panics and wants his father to help him somehow. But Kotaro only attacks him. It doesn’t even matter if Kotaro only meant to knock him unconscious to stop his power or if he really meant to hurt him. Tenko just feels hurt and betrayed yet again. And that in such a crucial moment! After all that he finally snaps and kills his father. But does that really mean he was evil all along? Actually it looks more like he was just pushed too far.
And when Shigaraki said that he might have always wished for something like that to happen, was that how he really felt? It could be that he really just wanted the bad things to finally stop and his current emotional state blew everything out of proportion and made him feel like he wanted all of this to happen to make it stop. Or was it just how he felt while looking back at it. Because then his view on it could be affected by AFO’s manipulation.
It always looked like Shigaraki felt incredibly guilty for what happened and never forgave himself. Which suggests that he didn’t really want it to happen and AFO always used that to manipulate him. If he was truly evil, then he most likely wouldn’t feel so guilty about it and AFO wouldn’t have been able to use it against him.
I think the whole point of this past arc was to showcase the environments that breed what a supervillain is. Which has in the past few arcs been deconstructed. I would argue that Shiggy is the most evil of all of the League because hes this wanton destructive figure of chaos, who would cold bloodily kill a 14 year old girl. Yet, out of all of the villains in the League, his backstory demonstrates the least control over his situation. Compared to Himiko whose social isolation was based on low level of impulse control ( which doesnt justify her violence ), or Spinner whose a Neet. I think its reductive for people to point at this kid and say he was born evil. That's never the case, not even with Afo. But I do think that right now, the Tomura/Tenko we have, is too far gone. Hes gotta die.
INTRODUCING: A FEW SPOOKY GIRLS from my oc fan-class
[Wick] Tomoshibi Ajisai Wax: Mutation type quirk which gives the user a wax-like body that they can manipulate the viscosity of, and it’s durability once hardened! Tomoshibi can attack by spewing hot wax or immobilize people in it. Limitation(s): While it’s stronger than your everyday wax, it can be broken, especially when exposed to heat. As her body comprises of the material, an extremely hot environment may even make it difficult for Tomoshibi to move or maintain her form. In addition, strong winds put her at risk for being ‘blown out’ (which looks very upsetting, but is mostly just annoying and keeps her from heating her wax). Equipment: Because of the instability of her physical form, Tomoshibi wears a specialized full-body compression suit at almost all times, including under her hero costume. Her costume also includes various perforations from which she can excrete wax and a lamp-like helmet.
Tsukumo Ami Little Ghosts: This quirk allows the user to grant temporary semi-sentience to inanimate objects, effectively creating tsukumogami or ‘tool ghosts’. Often they mutate unsettling physical features such as eyes, mouths and ectoplasmic limbs. The strength and directive of these ‘ghosts’ is determined by both the object and the users will and emotions. With varying effort she can bring to life things as small and simple as pencils or as large as statues. The little ghosts can be banished at the user’s discretion, at which point they revert to their original forms. Limitation(s): Tsukumo must be able to touch an object in order to animate it. This quirk cannot be used on most electronics, computers, etc. (because those things already ‘think’ for themselves). In addition, everything she animates technically has its own free will, and may go about tasks in a chaotic or unexpected way, or in the case of strong personalities, disobey outright. Equipment: Tsukumo wears three masks on her hero costume, each with a strong personality, that help her by increasing her field of vision, watching her back, giving tips or suggestions, and on occasion biting people who get too close.
[Spindle] Udeto Ashi Spindling: This transformation quirk allows the user to distort their body by extending the limbs, extremities and spine. This form includes needle-like, clawed fingers and can stretch to an imposing twelve feet tall. Limitation(s): Spindle’s body is not stretchy, and movement is limited by the same joints as a normal person. In addition, at extreme lengths she can become overextended and brittle. Equipment: N/A
Nice!
Hello! Since you're one of few people I see analyzing the MLA characters I'm curious (heh) to know your opinion on something. we've seen re destro cry on two separate occasions now, in response to people dying. (first with the intern, then with curious + all the MLA soldiers) do you think he's being genuine and that he actually feels remorse for these people losing their life? He did ask the intern about his family before he killed him (although that might be to make sure no one got suspicious)
I am so glad you asked because this is something that seems pretty controversial among the fans judging from what I’ve seen so far on tumblr, youtube and reddit, and I’ve been dying to give my POV on this but never had the motivation to lmao. So here goes.
The short answer is yes, I do think Re-Destro genuinely cares about his people and was saddened by their deaths, but he has a bigger picture mentality and puts the Liberation Army’s objectives before his personal feelings.
Starting with Miyashita, he was clearly heartbroken after killing him. It’s obvious in his initial reaction, he undergoes some kind of internal conflict as opposed to just walking up to him and crushing his head in (he didn’t snap his neck, folks) in a coldblooded manner.
And then of course there are his tears after the deed was done and his words: “I’ll never forget you”.
And he didn’t. Several chapters later, this was his response to Twice’s terrible joke:
He misses Miyashita, a lot. He was genuinely attached to his secretary and trusted him so much that he even thought about introducing him to the rest of the MLA executives; Miyashita’s rejection of Destro’s ideals must have been a huge shock to Re-Destro, and while he felt like he had no other option but to kill him, that act clearly kept eating at him afterwards (which is good for his Quirk but still).
On to the Army members. He gave this little speech after Curious’s death:
A few panels later, his smile is back and he wipes away his tear like nothing is wrong:
Now, it would be easy to call him a hypocrite for the sudden change in his mood, especially since he’s safe in his tower while all his soldiers are out dying on the battlefield. But then 232 gave us this insight into his way of thinking:
“If you have an objective as an organization, unnecessary emotions are but shackles that weigh you down.” This is what I mentioned earlier: Re-Destro keeps the bigger picture in mind and shoves his own personal feelings aside because they would be a hindrance to reaching his goals. He allows himself a few moments to grieve each time, then compartmentalizes. He knows himself, knows how emotional he is, and he’s made the conscious decision to ignore those emotions for the sake of the cause. It’s almost noble, really. (Not to mention that all those repressed feelings are probably A+ fuel for his quirk.) It’s also why he’s in his tower: as the leader, he needs to remain safe because if something were to happen to him the Army would fall apart.
And in case there was any doubt left that he cares about his followers, this is what he told Shigaraki in 233:
Not the words of a man who only views his men as fodder.
Re-Destro really is an interesting antagonist. He’s one of those idealist-gone-wrong types who view themselves as a necessary evil in order to create a better world. From his point of view he IS in the right, and that’s what makes him so scary, because he will do anything to see his vision accomplished. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, as they say.
(Ignore if too long) The last time we focused on the League of Villains and their conflict with another gang, the Expendible Bullets or whatever they are called, the end result was that part of the gang's idealogy was absorbed and strengthened the LoV. Overhaul and his 8 Bullets doubted that was Shigaraki a leader with a vision and a personal charisma that could influence others. But over the course of that arc, we see Shigaraki place his trust in Twice and Toga and expand his idealogy about reshaping the world for the betterment - at least - his small circle of friends. Maybe I'm looking too deep into this but when the LoV defeat Re Destro. We might see Shigaraki taking a mantle and creating a far larger and devoted organization and operating similarly to the big stress boi. But what do you think?
You had one job Homeworld.

GOD DAMN I LOVE THIS
IM THE ONE WGO GOT YOU INTO AVAS DEMOM BE MY MUTUAL PLEASE IM ASKED YOU THIS LIKE FIFTY TIMES PLS
i dunno man seems pretty fishy to me
(and u lie fp this is the first time I think I’ve even seen your tumblr)
well its cause its super embarrasinh
Ava’s Demon prediction
- Ava snaps and kills Gil
- Nevy saves Gil by making him form a pact with her
- Nevy also tells Gil that Ava has been telling the truth and that he should stop being a fucking asshole ((NOTE: Ava is also in the wrong, I’m not putting all the blame on Gil here. But. Jfc. He ripped up her book and slapped her and has just been such a dick these last few updates))
- Pedri continues to act like nothing in happening
- Maggie and Odin are finally included in a group conversation and told what’s happening
Alternatively, seeing as Nevy hates Wrathias guts apparently. Nevy and Gil pact become fucking badboibitches and try to kill Ava and Wrathia. Thats kinda how I see this spiral turning out with Gil becoming an antagonist. Its gonna be fun.
its interesting how the deadly sins in avas demon correspond to the characters because there are more obvious and more subtle facets of it in all of them (except gil, where its really…all subtle. up until maybe the last couple updates). like with maggie the “lust” thing seems really obvious. she crushes on boys, tries to manipulate them into liking her, etc. but something else is that romance changes her behavior on a fundamental level. we know ava did something to break her heart and that was the beginning of her jadedness and cruelty. and ever since then, really the only person we’ve seen her treat with kindness is gil, because she likes him. and she isn’t putting on a facade–she genuinely cares for his well-being. she’s been broken to the point that she just can’t have sincere interactions with anyone except for people that she’s placed on a romanticized pedestal.
Its really really subtle when it comes to Odin because he never really is boastful and arrogant. Rather its an insidious pride born from insecurity. As if his response to being put down upon by his family was to internalize this image of himself as better than others like Gil. When in actuality, he probably follows a creed thats probably as dangerous and as foolhardy as Gil's. I think... i dunno go volunteer at a hospital
