The idea of a fidelity spell can be an emotive subject. In fact, any spell that attempts to influence another person’s free will is frowned upon by many wiccans and witches. I myself am not constrained by this, and believe that. as long as you are prepared to live with the consequences, using magick to … Continue reading A Fidelity Spell To Help Keep Your Partner Faithful.

How To Make Algiers Fast Luck Oil.
Fast Luck Oil - A Staple Product In Hoodoo Culture.
Fast Luck Oil is often named after the Algiers district in New Orleans. It is used by gamblers before hitting the casino. Interestingly, the original fast luck oil formula doesn't contain lucky hand root. I believe the root is normally carried whole, possibly annointed with one of the lucky oils and kept about the person or in a mojo.
For those not in possession of the lucky hand root however, the fast luck oil was a popular way to encourage Lady Luck onto your side.
For More about magickal correspondences, Check Out my Master List
I managed to get hold of a bunch of lucky hand roots, but they are never guaranteed, so it made sense to me to preserve them in oil. For this reason, my own lucky oil recipes are built on a base of lucky hand root oil, meaning they differ from the traditional recipe.
For other formulas, see THIS PAGE.

Is this all sounding too much like hard work? Why not go route direct to my shop and BUY what you need! Handmade Fast Luck Oil is ready to buy right HERE.
Use Of Alkanet In The Formula
Alkanet comes from the borage family. Its roots are often used as a dye, which comes out as a beautiful ruby red. Alkanet is also said to bring good luck in business and money matters and to protect your money. Algiers Oil is often called Red Fast Luck Oil, due to the inclusion of this root.
When adding the alkanet, be aware that it takes some time for the colour to develop. If you add too much it turns a bloody colour, so I recommend adding a few flakes at a time.
Have you worked with Fast Luck Oil? Perhaps you have a kick ass ingredient you want to share. Drop me a comment below.
I Can You Can’t Spell - Ask A Witch.
Hi Tuesday,
I’ve seen on another site there’s an I Can You Can’t Spell and I really want to do it but not sure how. I’ve applied to rent this house that I really REALLY want. It’s exactly what I need, the right size, close to work etc. There are 4 of us in the running. How do I use I Can You Can’t to beat the others to it? Thanks, Clare.
Hi Clare,
Thanks for your message. I believe the ‘I Can You Can’t’ is a hoodoo spell to gain a competitive edge, which employs the use of oils and/or powders in a ritual of your choosing.
I don’t currently sell I Can You Can’t, but I would imagine it is based on an attraction or success spell for you, followed by a gentle binding of the other people who are in direct competition with you.
Here is my suggestion for a spell based on the ‘I Can You Can’t’ concept:
You’ll need brown parchment or parcel paper, a pen, a green candle, a pin, 3 sealy bags, Blockbuster Oil, Crown Of Success Oil and Blessing Oil.
Ideally you would start this on the first quarter or waxing gibbous moon, but if time is of the essence, just do it when you can.
Take the brown paper and draw an outline of the house. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece, just a vague representation. Write the street address also. Then, outside the house, draw the people who are all wanting the house. Stick figures are fine. Draw them in a queue, with yourself at the front.
Next, tear off the other 3 people in the queue behind you, leaving only you outside. Tear the other 3 people so you have 3 separate pieces of paper. Then you are going to speak kindly but firmly to each one. Tell them this is not the house for them, and that you will be the one who moves in. You can use the words ‘I Can You Can’t’ if that makes it easier for you.
Then, annoint each stick person with Blockbuster Oil before putting them in separate bags. Add water, seal the bags, and bury them in the freezer. They should be far enough in to get frozen, but it’s important you don’t lose them.
Next, take your candle and cleanse it with salt and water. Then, annoint it from the bottom to the top with Blockbuster Oil. Tell it that you are removing all obstacles between you and this house. Take the pin and scratch the image of the house onto the candle. You could also write the address, draw sigils or symbols or whatever.
After you’ve done that, take the Crown Of Success Oil and annoint the candle from top to bottom, as if you are pulling something in, towards you. Set the candle in a holder. I like to use a candelabra, placing the main spell candle in the middle, and lighting tea lights either side annointed with my Fiery Wall Of Protection Oil.
Take the drawing of the house, with you stood outside, and annoint it, first with Blockbuster, then with Crown Of Success Oil. You should dab it in a ‘5 mark’ like you see on dice. Then fold it, turn it once and fold again, and continue until it is folded up like a parcel. Place this under the candelabra.
Your ‘I Can You Can’t’ spell is now ready. You can burn the candle all in one go, or in increments - however you see fit. Be sure to snuff or pinch it out between burnings rather than blow it out. Whilst it burns, gaze into the flame and visualise yourself moving in to your new home and living there happily.
After 7 days, it’s important to let the other people out of the freezer. Your intention isn’t to hurt them, just to get ahead. Put the bags into tepid water to defrost them just enough to open them. Then tip blessing oil over each one in turn. Wish them well in their search for a new home and thank them for letting you have it. Then you want to tip them out of the bags, flush them down the toilet, and walk away without looking back.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know how you get on!
Best Wishes

Using Spell Oils and Powders
Hi Tuesday,
I need to know about using spell oils and powders. You have loads for sale in your shop but no clear instructions on how to use them.
Thanks
Holly
Hi Holly :)
It’s great to hear from you, thanks for your message. Yes, there is often some confusion around using spell oils and powders, and for this I can only apologise. Etsy have very strict rules about what you can and can’t say in your sales copy.
The good news is that you can use your oils and powders in many different ways. Deciding what is best for you depends on your intent, ability and circumstances.
Using Spell Oils and Powders On Yourself
Oils and powders to use on the self are very popular, and one of the most versatile in terms of usage. You can sprinkle powders and salts around the perimeter of your home, in door ways and on window sills. Oils can be added to floor washes and cleaning products, and herbal sachets could be put in bath water or hung in a shower. You could use oils to annoint the temples, pulse points and behind the ears before leaving the house. If you have a mojo or gris gris bag, you can also use oils to ‘feed’ it.
Obviously, you must check before using anything directly on your skin.
Using Spell Oils and Powders Directly On A Target
Many of the products I sell in my shop have originated from Hoodoo practice, where practitioners use the foot print of their intended target to get results. The belief is that the foot print carries the very essence of a person, and as such, many Hoodooists will collect dirt from the actual print to incorporate it into their spells.
The most basic way of using spell oils and powders in foot track magick is to sprinkle powder directly into a foot print your target has left, but this isn’t always practical. You can also sprinkle oil or powders where they will walk, such as the doorstep, or beside their car. It is believed that by doing this, you will cause your target to absorb your spell through their feet. So, working on this theory, you could also sprinkle it directly into their shoes or socks.
Using Spell Oils and Powders From A Distance
Obviously, the above tactics require you to be fairly close to your target, but this isn’t always possible. When using spell oils and powders from a distance, we have to get clever. Some people like to blow the powder to the winds and trust that it will find the right way. Personally, I think that requires a force of will not always present with new witches. A simpler way of doing it would be to dust some paperwork or annoint an item before posting it to your target. This doesn’t utilise foot track magick per-se as the spell would be delivered via the hands instead, but it isn’t any less effective.
This is also a popular way to use the Court Case Oil, by annointing the relevant paperwork prior to attending. In money spells you could dust your coins and notes before spending them.
Using Spell Oils and Powders In Sympathetic Magick
If you don’t happen to know your target’s address, or even their name, sympathetick magick can be very useful. Candles are the simplest way to go here. You can carve the name of your target into the wax, or a sigil or symbol of who/what the candle represents. You would then annoint the candle with your spell oil before rolling it in the spell powder. Your candle is then ready to go.
Poppets (also known as voodoo dolls) are another way to represent the person you wish to cast a spell on. This is especially effective if you have managed to obtain what we call a ‘Tag-Lock’ which links the poppet to it’s intended target. You could use the powders in stuffing for the poppet and the oils to annoint or baptise it.
This is just a quick guide to using spell oils and powders, but if you would like to learn in more detail, consider signing up to my Witch School Waiting List.

To Become a Sorcerer
‘If one wishes to become a true sorcerer. but without having to sell oneself to the Devil, then one should go to the churchyard on a Thursday night between two and four o'clock. This is what one says:
Inhabitants of the Kingdom of Death this payment I borrow from you that sometime you might tell me how to find out that which I wish to know.
Then one goes up to the church-bell and scrapes a little metal from it and keeps it in a bottle. If one then wants to find out about something. whatever it may be, then one goes to the churchyard on a Thursday night and says:
Inhabitants of the Kingdom of Death. Come forth! Tell me how I should restore this coin that I have borrowed from you it shall be paid back to you on that day that I enter with you into eternity.
Then one may learn from the spirits anything that one wishes to know, even if there is no earthly way for you to discover it. Each time one wants to find out about something. then one goes to the churchyard and repeats the ritual.
End-note: The Wise One purloins some bell metal (apparently considered to be akin to a coin) and promises to return it when he joins them in the Kingdom of Death. In exchange for this undertaking he requests knowledge. There is no Christian component to this ritual, simply a rather manipulative contract between the Wise One and the Dead. Also, there is no infernal aspect; the services of the Dead being obtained instead of selling oneself to the Devil.’

Simple Sigil Creation: A How-To Guide
One of the most common messages I get on Tumblr goes something like this: “What is your process for creating sigils? It can’t be as simple as scrambling up letters, so what’s the real secret?”
The truth is, there isn’t a secret. Making sigils is actually quite simple. Anyone can do it. Even for a complete newcomer, the process should take less time than a coffee break. While there are many, many ways to create sigils — magic squares, automatic drawing, grid overlays — the methods don’t really matter all that much.
In this post, I’m going to show the step-by-step method I used for creating the most recent sigil I’ve published. It came at the request of a young woman who wanted to catch the romantic attentions of another female. It said simply: “She will see me in a romantic way.”
As you can see, I’ve gone with the most basic sigil-creation method here. I’ve written out the text, and I’ve isolated the consonants from the sentence. While there is an “occult” tradition behind this method, I wouldn’t get hung up on thinking that it’s the “right” way to make a sigil. It’s no better than any other method, it’s just easier to explain.
This first step is meant to abstract the coherent words into a less-coherent jumble of letters. The words stop being as meaningful, but the symbols behind the sigil’s intent remain. To keep things simple — and to speed up my next step — I arrange these letters into a grid.
The next step is to abstract the remaining letters even further. Here, I’ve simply started combining elements of the letters together. I generally start by picking two letters from the grid of consonants, and start combining lines, curves, curls, dots, and other pieces of those letters together.
I try to keep these new symbols as simple as possible — four or five pencil strokes at most — because I’ll be further combining them in the next step.
From here, I generally play around with a few ideas, combining elements of symbols as I go. Sometimes these ideas come easily, as seen in the picture, but sometimes it can take pages and pages of sketches to find one I like. In particularly thorny situations, I’ll even start the entire process over from scratch, just to give myself a clean slate.
Once I’ve found a design I like, it’s time to start on the final design. Much like every other stage in the process, there is no one “right” way to do this. This is also the step where most people could happily stop. When the sigil looks and feels “right” to you, it’s done. The sigil is complete, if you want it to be.
In my case, however, I’m also making art for my website and social media. That means creating a version of the sigil that will (hopefully) catch other people’s eyes. There are countless ways to do this — charcoals, crayons, digital painting, markers — and I’ve experimented quite a bit over the years.
I also like to have an excuse to play with ink and brushes, so that’s how this one came together. I like that it’s a little unpredictable — with streaks and globs and splatter — and I’m always thrilled when a happy accident improves the design.
As you can see, I create tons of variations, tinkering with brush sizes, stroke direction, the amount of ink in the brush, and other stuff. While I liked some of these versions, none of them looked quite right. So, I kept going until I found one that did.
A few ink-soaked pages later, and this version was the clear winner. From here, it was just a matter of scanning the image in and doing a few technical things in Photoshop to make it look better in black and white. I add the text, the watermark, and … that’s it.
Here’s the finished version.
As you can see, there’s no great secret to making a sigil. Nor should there be. Sigils are about focusing intent, and even a few pencil scratches on notebook paper can become a perfectly wonderful sigil with the right intent behind it. Yes, some people (like me) like to do a little showing off with things they picked up from art class, but that should never be a barrier to creating your own personal sigils.

Powering Your Spells
Hi Tuesday,
I’m new to spells and I really need to know how to power them up please? I do and say everything it tells me to, but they don’t seem to work. How can I add the missing power?
Suzie
Hi Suzie,
Thanks for getting in touch, that’s a great question.
The fundamental basics of casting a spell are that you are raising energy, filling it with your intent, directing it, then releasing it to the universe. Put like that it sounds pretty simple I know, but as with many things in life, to fully understand the process, we need to break it down.
1. Raising Energy
There are several different ways of doing this. Some people like to hum or sing, others dance. Beating drums is another popular one, as is sex magick (as long as you can hang on until the right moment!) Personally, I like to chant, because it helps with setting my intention correctly and helps me to focus. This doesn’t have to be a loud shouty business! I prefer to mutter - mainly because I feel like a bit of a tool yelling my head off - but whatever works for you! Again, time frame is a fairly subjective issue. As a general rule of thumb, I’d say from when you feel it growing from inside your belly/solar plexus until you feel ready to explode.
2. Intention
These 2 steps go hand in hand really, as you are building energy with a specific intent. As the energy grows, you need to be able to clearly visualise what it is you want to happen. So for a money spell you might see your bank balance increasing or your wallet filling. For weight loss spells you’d visualise yourself weighing less and less until you are at your desired size etc.
3. Directing
This is when you tell the energy what you want it to do. I love writing rhyming incantations because they are more fun to say, but a few simple sentences or even off the top of your head is fine. If you are performing a 3rd party spell, this is when you tell the energy where to go. If sympathetic magick, this would be when you used your poppet/moved your candles or whatever. Basically, this is the practical bit.
4. Releasing
Once you’ve said and done all of the necessary bits, then you are ready to release the energy into the universe. Again, there are different ways to do this. Some like to ring a bell, clap their hands or thump the table top to signify it is done. Others might use a phrase like ‘So Mote It Be’ or words to that effect. I like ‘Let It Be,’ as I’m a secular witch, but again, whatever means something to you. This is where you send the energy that you’ve built out and on its way.
Casting successful spells takes a lot of practice, the ability to visualise and the discipline to focus. Wishing you the very best of luck with everything, and I hope this has been helpful.

Spell Substitutions
Dear Tuesday,
I have a bunch of spells i want to try but can't afford a lot of the ingredients. How do you know what to use instead please?
Ella
Hi Ella, thanks for your message.
Substituting ingredients is a really important part of the craft, but it's also much simpler than you'd imagine.
Most of us don't have the money to order exotic herbs from far flung destinations, and even if we did, what about the rare items that aren't able to be sourced ethically?
Just as there are countless lists of magickal correspondences available online and in books, the same goes for substitutions. But here's the thing - these are only ever guidelines. The most powerful and meaningful spell work comes from within you, and utilises components that mean something to you.
The key to building spells is to understand the logic behind the items you are using. Floriography and the knowledge of signatures is useful here, but what about those with no interest in plants? Well, they need to look to their own interests and draw from there. Failing that, whatever you can scavenge from your home and/or garden.
Even the most mundane objects can become magickal - it all depends on your perspective. I've seen a wonderful spell cast with lego bricks and a toy car before, by someone who needed to act quickly with what they already had to hand.
Perhaps a spell calls for a botanical you've never heard of that is said to attract. You might decide to substitute it with magnets or perhaps a candle (moth to a flame). Or maybe you are missing the item to secure what you've attracted, and have a spare set of fish hooks lying around. Use your imagination!
I guess the most important thing is to know that there is no right or wrong way to do it. It's all about using your intuition, and going with what feels right for you.
I hope this is helpful. Wishing you the best of luck.
