Happening right now in Hong Kong - the police is firing rubber bullets and using batons, pepper spray, tear gas and water cannons on peaceful protesters who took the streets to protest against the passing of a controversial law which would allow China to extradite people.
Protesters set up camps, gave out snacks and surgical masks before all of this started. Tanks are apparenrly out in the streets as well and people are being hurt as I write this, but they are not backing down.
Most of the protesters are young people, university students, even high schoolers.
The police are now stopping ambulances trying to help the injured and are taking people out of the ambulances and arresting them insteading of letting them get the help they need. This could cost people their lives, their vision (they aimed the rubber bullets in the heads of the protesters), etc. It’s like those police officers forgot what their jobs actually are and lost their humanity in the process.
The man covered in blood and lying on the floor in one of the photos above is a journalist and the police shot him in the head! The protesters moved to let the ambulance pass through and directed them to the man and let them pass to the hospital freely, clapping at the ambulance workers all the while. The man has since lost consciousness and his condition is reported as being serious.
Meanwhile, the police had since blocked other ambulance vehicles from passing through and arrested the injured.
A video of the journalist being shot was captured and is currently spreading on social media - in it, you can see that the man was just standing there and didn’t do anything to warrant being shot whatsoever.

We are multiple generations now with no experience with strikes, and I see a lot of confused, well meaning people who want to help but don’t know strike etiquette.
1. Never cross a picket line of striking workers.
2. Never purchase or take free goods from a company who’s workers are striking
3. Honk to support strikers if you drive by a picket line.
4. Join strikers on the picket line even if it’s not your strike, but follow their directions and defer to them while there.
5. Say “that’s great, the strike is working, the company should negotiate with their workers” whenever someone complains about profits lost, inconveniences or other worker-phobic rhetoric. Always turn it back on the company, who has all the power and money.
UBER + LYFT ARE STRIKING IN SOME CITIES ON MAY 8th! RESPECT THIS AND REFUSE TO TAKE EITHER ONE ANYWHERE. NOWHERE. NO, NOT EVEN IF YOU TIP EXTRA. THAT STILL COUNTS AS A PICKET LINE.

*sighs* stop being so right all the time
hint: if a person with clinical depression and anxiety says theyre tired …. dont tell them they have no reason to be …. bc guess what….. They Know and Its Shitty
Louder!!!
I just want to add one thing-
If you have depression or anxiety? you’re not tired for no reason.
You’re tired because you have depression/anxiety.
Not only do they both come with low energy/fatigue as a legit common side effect, but they’re both fucking /exhausting/. fighting your brain all the time? exhausting. adrenaline crashes from anxiety/panic attacks? exhausting. being on edge all the time? exhausting. plus doing things costs /more/ energy when you have those mental illnesses.
You’re not tired for no reason, you’re tied because you have an illness that makes you tired.
I needed to hear this so bad that it made me cry
when I tell u I LOST IT
Lmao omg I just hollered 😂🤣
me? clingy? yes please don’t leave me
WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY
me forcing my followers to look at my newest obsession
someone airdrop me a hug a mf going through alot
It’s easier to think of someone as “lazy” than to face the fact that school costs too much, that better jobs are inaccessible, that childcare is unaffordable, that people are forced to work so hard for so little that there’s no way they could have enough energy to attempt schooling or finding better work, and that what we give to people who can’t work is insufficient to the point of being shameful. I could say that calling people lazy is, in itself, lazy, but it’s not just an intellectual shortcut. It’s a defense mechanism.
PLEASE KNOW NOT EVERYONE IN A WHEELCHAIR IS PARALYSED. I REPEAT- NOT EVERYONE IN A WHEELCHAIR IS PARALYSED.
what doctors think i do: delude myself into thinking my symptoms are worse than they are
what i actually do:
delude myself into thinking my symptoms are not as bad as they are
What you say: So-and-so is fine as long as we don’t talk politics/religion/LGBT rights/etc..
What you mean: So-and-so is fine as long as I’m not forced to confront who they really are as a person.
What that really means: You’re in a relationship with an imaginary person.
What everyone else sees: You aligning yourself with bigotry which you claim to be against.
What you should be doing: Make 👏🏻 bigots 👏🏻 scared 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 leave 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 house 👏🏻
What you’re actually doing: Telling me what a nice person they are if I would only just ignore that one “little” thing about them (everything they believe in) and concentrate on their good qualities.
.
Pro tip: Almost everyone has good qualities. That doesn’t make them a good person.
