Happy Anniversary Zootopia!
TheWyvernsWeaver and I (Kulkum) are celebrating in true WildeHopps style. Enjoy!
The banner that hung over the greeting desk in the lobby was about as ostentatious to say the least. In her mind, anyway. The dark blue of the ZPD uniform covered the bulk of it until it suddenly exploded in a rainbow of colors that were almost offensive to the eye. Those colors, which came across as what would happen if fireworks were loaded with paint and set off next to a piece of paper, surrounded the lettering. Hand crafted, blocky, and colored in a combination of red and gray, it was the finishing touch in what was her greetings into to the ZPD that morning.
Officer Judy Hopps
Officer Nick Wilde
1st year Anniversary as Partners!
She found it interested how terrible the red and gray lettering looked on the banner, mostly because the colors were off, when in her life recently she had learned the red and gray mixed together extremely well. On the job, she could always count on his attention to detail, readiness to watch her back and his ability to defuse some situations with wit and charm. As a friend, he had always been there for her even in the low points, until he had become impossible to replace or live without. Which had led them, gradually, to where they were now.
None of the officers in the room knew about their romantic relationship. Not only had it just begun, but there was a work element involved. They were still testing the waters of being partners, friends, and lovers. And damn it, if that last part didn’t make her tingle just to think about. It was all she could do most days to keep her paws to herself while they were on patrol. But while there had been an occasional slip, slips that she couldn’t blame entirely on him, they had managed to keep things… mostly professional. And their unending thirst for each other didn’t seem to change that he was a fantastic partner and amazing friend.
And speaking of her amazing partner, she was still scanning the active room for him. They had separated at the end of shift to stow their gear and she hadn’t seen him since. Not since stepping into the chaos of a surprise party to celebrate their first year together. She had failed miserably to dig up the courage to tell Clawhauser, whom she was sure she could thank for this, that she and Nick had plans of their own. Plans that really involved nothing more than going to one of their apartments, locking the door, and spending a lot of time naked together. The bubbly cheetah and his obvious delight were simply too hard to resist, combined with the genuine feeling of comradery from those in the room. Even Chief Bogo was there, looking adorable wearing a silly little party hat between his horns with the generally dour expression unchanged.
Her ears twitched once as she turned around, then glanced around to find no one there. Nose twitching, she scanned the room again and raised her ears until they were quivering.
The drawn out saying of her name was insanely soft. Those milling around the room chatting likely missed it over the sound of Gazelle playing in the background, but she turned her eyes towards the hallway. She spotted him then, in a flash, his head peeking around the door of an office on the other side of the lobby before he grinned and ducked inside. Frowning a bit, she glanced around to make sure that no one was paying attention as she wandered her way over to the wall next to the office. As cloak-n-dagger as possible, she leaned there for a good thirty seconds, watching all eyes in the room to make sure no one was watching before soundlessly slipping into the dark office.
The second she was past the door, she found herself yanked in, the door closed behind her, her back pressed against the door, and her mouth covered by his. This sudden shift of events muffled any desire to question or protest as effectively as his tongue when he slipped it past her all too willing lips to meet her own. Not one to be surprised by their sudden bursts of passion, her fingers gripped the front of his shirt and dragged him down until their muzzles were locked and the smell of fox swam over her to mingle beautifully with the taste of him. Before she gained enough willpower to think about it, she realized that his paws were on her hips and she was in motion. She didn’t know and didn’t care where he was taking her until she felt her butt hit the desk on the other side of the office. That made her break the kiss.
The protest was weak when his canines grazed the flesh at the base of one ear, the humid caress of his breath as he sucked in the scent of her making her bones feel like jelly and her desire to hold him off evaporate into nothing. She hadn’t even realized that her fingers were unbuttoning his shirt until it was done and her fingers delved into the warmth of his fur to caress the lean muscles underneath. It was his turn to weaken, though the sound of his lowly growled moan against the side of her throat heightened her need to feel more of him.
“We should be home,” he whispered against her throat as his tongue dragged slowly through the fur, following the path of her pulse until he reached the collar of the ZPD T-shirt she wore. “Celebrating in our way. I can’t wait through an entire party.”
“Sly fox,” she whispered, muffling the whimper of a moan behind tightly closed lips when he pulled her shirt out of her waistband to slide his amazingly large paw up her belly and over her chest. The shirt followed the path, riding up to expose more and more of the white midriff to the hungry eyes and eager paws of her partner. “Always get what you want, don’t you?”
“All I want is you,” he replied as he nipped his way along her jawline softly, making her heart skip in her chest as a beautiful storm of passion and love rolled over her. She reached for his belt, the urgency of her paws making short work of the buckle as she started to push them down his hips…
“Where are Nick and Judy?” came the distant but clear sound of Clawhauser’s voice from the other side of the door. “They’re missing their own party!”
Even as the sounds of confused and unknowing officers mumbled, she could see the gleam of his white teeth in the near darkness as a wide and nearly feral grin spread over his muzzle.
