A gruelling cycle ride in the heat! We cycled from passy lake over to Flaine and back. Fred got a puncture along the way and I felt dehydrated from lack of water and too much sunshine.
We finished the day with a swim at passy lake and a McDonald’s!
It isn’t much of an interesting ride and Flaine seemed to be filled with American/ caravan park looking newbuild apartments.
It was a 20k uphill col though which meant good for training!

A nice mix of some cycling 🚴♀️ and swimming 🏊♀️ today on our final day in Mallorca
We cycled down to Cala Tuent which is a pebble beach only about 150meters in length and nobody was there 🏝
After slogging our way back up to the orange 🍊 juice shop we went over to Sóller and back up to the Tunel de Monnaber.
Fred is sad ☹️ to leave Mallorca but i am excited to get back to Chamonix to see my saucisson and do some climbing 🧗♀️
It was nice to cycle on quiet roads around the west side of the mountains on the island today. And really nice that Harry Walker joined us. He works on a boat in Palma during the summer so it was nice to tie in seeing him while we were nearby

A rather hot cycle from Pollenca to Sa Calobra.
The ride there was fairly relaxed. The ride down from the top was spine chilling and the views were breathtaking. When we arrived in Sa Calobra we had our packed lunch and relaxed by the water.
The ride back up to the top was pretty exhausting but great fun all the same! I was in the easiest gear towards the top of the climb feeling pretty overheated from the sunshine.
We were pretty lucky as the roads were fairly dead which meant you didn’t have to worry too much about buses running tourists up and back. And the iron man had been the week before and apparently the island was packed then.
It is definitely a ride I would love to come back and do again!
We stopped off for freshly squeezed orange juice on the way home - yum!
Cycling Mallorca’s FAYmous Cap de Formentor.

It was nice to cycle down the road past the locals beach we swam in when we were in Mallorca for Cath and Russ’ birthday. It was called Cala Figuera.
After we had climbed cap formentor we spotted a look out tower which we then cycled up. It had the best views of the day from there.
A nice little cycle from Trevedra Farm Campsite just north of Sennen to Mousehole. A coffee in the cafe Hole Foods. 22m round trip.

This weekend I tried out my new clip in shoes on my road bike. I fell over twice on the first day both times as I was coming to an abrupt stop and couldn't unclip! Glad my dad wasn't there as he would compare it to an episode of Only Fools and Horses and cackle with laughter at me. Chamonix - Col des Montets - Col de la Forclaz - Matigny - Le Châble - Verbier - Carrefour - Le Châble (79k, 2130m up, 2320 down) Le Châble - Mauvoisin Dam - Le Châble - Matigny - Col de la Forclaz - Col des Montets - Chamonix (100k, 2,640m up, 2440m down) Sofie Sjöström and her lovely housemates putting us up for the night and made us delicious home made beef burgers to fuel our cycle !
