âLooks like someone has been skipping their anger management class.â
âIâm fine.â Alec said, giving the woman a pointed look. He took another breath and repeated. âIâm fine.â His words were softer this time.Â
âAre you sure you want to do that? Because if I remember correctly, this did not go well for you last time and I can guarantee that it isnât going to go well for you this time either.â
Alec turned around from his position on the chair, hand still hovering over the mouse on the computer desk. âThen what do you suggest?â He asked, raising a brow and leaning further into the chair.

Sasha raised a brow not quite believing the male. âSeriously?â She asked confused, he seemed shocked that the thought had even passed her mind, was he really that oblivious to the chemistry they both gave off? âBut you both want it to be more, right?â The blonde questioned trying to figure their situation out. âWell other than suffocating in the sexual chemistry you both give off, it kind of just seemed like the two of you were some kind of item.âÂ
Alec nodded at her question, noting the confusion in her features. But then was once again lost for words for a few moments at her next question. âWell, no, I canât speak for her so I donât know if thatâs what she wants... And weâve got bigger things to worry about than that anyway, so even if we did...â He shrugged, hoping the blonde would let it go. âSexual chemistry?â He was almost amused by that one. Granted, he couldnât completely disagree with it either, he just wasnât aware it was obvious beyond their private conversations. âI can assure you, weâre not.â He wondered how Tavia would have reacted to this conversation -- the thought caused a small smile to pull on his lips.
icykyra·:
âI mean, I would have iced them straight away so there wouldnât have been any casualties but we canât all be on the top of our game,â Kyra replied with a shrug. âGuns are pretty useless if they are frozen.â
âAny casualties besides the frozen-to-death criminals?â He rose a brow, not judging but almost amused. âYou canât always act on instinct, Kyra. Thatâs how people get killed.â Though he did wonder if he should have in this case. âNot if they shoot you first.âÂ

The blond nodded, though a pout could still be seen on her face. âTwo? Hell, I thought it was just one. Iâve never seen her friendly with anyone other than you and thatâs only because the two of you are banging.âÂ
Alecâs eyes widened slightly at her comment, certainly not expecting it. âNo.â Was the first thing out of his mouth, almost too enthusiastic. âWeâre not. It is strictly business -- a business relationship.â He paused for a moment before asking: âWhy do you say that?âÂ
theweaponmaker·:
Alec could sense that wasnât quite the whole truth, and he didnât want to force anything out of her, but he couldnât not try and talk about it either. âItâs okay to not be okay. It was a horrible event.â He said, trying to assure her that it wasnât expected of her or anyone else to be okay after that. He nodded, meeting her gaze. âIt was the right thing to do. But you didnât need to do anything. No one expected that.âÂ
The brunette paused chewing her lip as she mulled over what he had said. âWell then, Iâm not exactly fine but I donât think I want to talk about it.â She admitted quietly. âAre you okay?â Elsie asked turning the question on him wondering how the whole thing had affected him. She gave a nod, pleased that she did the right thing. âI know but I wanted to do what was right and wanted to help, itâs what you would have doneâ well, I mean, itâs what you did.â
Listening to her words, Alec nodded and reached out to place a hand on her shoulder. "Just let me know when you do. I'll always be here if you need me." He tried to assure her. It wasn't really the best idea to lock up feelings and not air them out. But, it wasn't a good idea to force someone to air them out either. "I'm fine, Els." He smiled. "Just worried about you all." And honestly, he was also angry with himself that someone had gotten hurt on his watch. Someone that wasn't with the organisation. Alec nodded, offering a smile. As much as he didnt want his sister in this mess, knowing it was just because she wanted to help was nice, in a way. He took a deep breath as he thought of a response. "You did help." He nodded. "My way of helping isn't always the best option though, Els... I just don't want you to get in dangerous situations like that. You shouldn't have to. None of you."
theweaponmaker·:
Alec shook his head, almost rolling his eyes at the comment. âAnd how would you have stopped it all from happening?â He said, hands moving to his waist as he awaited an answer.
âI would have iced the fuck out of them all until they were a bunch of ice cubes.. duh.â She replied with a laugh.
"Sounds an awful lot like what I did." Alec pointed out, raising a brow slightly. "With minor differences." He paused for a moment. "But there were too many people at risk to do it without proper preparation. They had guns too, remember."
absorbingsasha·:
Sasha nodded already losing interest due to the vagueness of his answer. âThereâs a difference Alec, sheâs only like that with you sometimes but sheâs always been funny with me.â She gave a sigh crossing her arms.
âJust donât dwell on it too much.â Alec told her with a small smile. âShe doesnât like to have more than two people on her friendâs list at once, and gets grouchy when that rule isnât properly maintained.âÂ
shiftingelsie·:
Elsie forced a smile before nodding. âIâm fine, donât worry.â She insisted brushing it off like it was nothing when in actuality she knew she wasnât â in fact, she hadnât been sober since the whole incident had happened and even with the drugs in her system, she could still hear the voices. âI know, but it was the right thing to do, wasnât it?â She asked needing that reassurance.
No one expected that.âÂ
icykyra·:
âAww, how sweet. To be honest, Iâm surprised any of this actually went off on yours and Tavâs watch. That shit would have stopped in a matter of seconds if I was here.â She teased with a wink.Â
Alec shook his head, almost rolling his eyes at the comment. âAnd how would you have stopped it all from happening?â He said, hands moving to his waist as he awaited an answer.
Elsie could hear them speaking but the words werenât registering within her mind. It was something that often happened when she wasnât on a high, she found it harder to concentrate without the drugs flowing through her veins - there was always too much going on in her head. It wasnât like the brunette was overly chatty when she was clean anyway, she had never really been talkative without substance abuse. It would take far more than some simple small talk to get the girl to say much.
Elsieâs eyes studied the person across from herâexpression blankâbefore they dropped to her hands in her lap as she went back to listening to the whispers and screams in her head. She only looked up as the person cleared their throat looking at her expectedly, âSorryâ what was that?â Â
Noticing that Elsie had very likely not heard even half of what he had said prior to her asking the question, Alec gave her a small smile and met his sisterâs gaze. âI asked if you were okay?â He explained. âThe other day was a lot, and you didnât have to put yourself in that situation, you know that, right?â In fact, he didnât want her to ever put herself in that situation again but he knew better than to outright state that.Â
âWait, donât tell me that you actually missed me?âÂ
âAfter the bloody mess that was the other day, yes.âÂ
absorbingsasha·:
âI donât. I was just, I dunno, curious â I guess?â She gave a shrug. If she was honest she was beginning to feel as if she was guilty, like they all suspected she wasnât being sincere. âPlease, save me the bullshit, she just doesnât like me.âÂ
Alec nodded in understanding. âWeâve not got anything truly substantial from it yet. But we have it, and that's what matters.â He told her -- though the answer was decidedly not very informative. Granted, it was true that they were still working on piecing their plans together. Alec couldnât help the amused smile that found its way to his lips at her comment. âSometimes I donât think sheâs too fond of me, either. Donât read too much into it.âÂ
absorbingsasha·:
âAnd what was that? I tried speaking to Octavia but she wouldnât tell me anything.âÂ
"I thought you didnât want to be directly involved?â Alec questioned, raising a brow slightly. âTavia is just being cautious -- for your sake as much as ours.â
portaljumpertav·:
Octavia was about to reply with yet another sarcastic retort, however, a gasp escaped her lips as her legs went from underneath her and gravity worked against her. Before she had chance to hit the floor, Tav felt him catch her and break her fall, her arms automatically wrapping around his neck causing her breath to catch in her throat as she looked up at him. A thousand thoughts ran through her head, the majority to quick for her to make much sense out of. Instead she found herself holding back laughter as she smirked up at him. âYou didnât actually think Iâd let you win right?â Her words came out in almost a whisper as she discretely moved her own leg to hook over his and adjusted her body weight. A moment later, she quickly moved to flip them over so she was instead straddling him.Â
As he loosened his grip and prepared to move off the woman, she caught him off-guard, flipping him back over so that she was now straddling him. It wasnât exactly something he was expecting and a light laugh left his lips. Alec met her gaze. âYouâre a little stronger than you look.â He said in reply, his eyes darting down to her lips for a moment, taking a breath before meeting her gaze again. âBut I still have my secret weapon.â A smirk grew on his lips and moments after, the bubbles streamed in front of their faces again.Â
portaljumpertav·:
âNo, really? iâm so glad you said that for us, it would never have even crossed my mind.â Tavia grabbed a scrap of paper off the desk, scrunched it up and threw it off his head to show her frustration. âThere shouldnât have been a first instance, never mind a need to add an again.â Instead of replying to his teasing and risking the chance of increasing his ego, Octavia instead moved to stand over his prone body and look down at him with a look that was a cross between a smugness and a a playful smirk. âWould you like to continue with your smart ass remarks Alec?â She couldnât help the small laugh that escaped her lips when she watched the bubbles.Â
Reacting just a little too late, the piece of paper hit him right on the forehead and he sighed. Though, part of him was always amused when Tavia got like this -- even though this situation was a serious issue. âWell I definitely didnât expect Elsie to be involved. Period. So I agree. Peyton is another issue, but youâre right -- I should have been more cautious.â Seeing the smirk that began to form on her features, Alec couldnât help himself. He swept her feet with his own leg and caught her to pin her beneath him. âI think Iâve got a few more in me.â He said, smirking down at her before loosening his grip and moving to get off of her.Â
portaljumpertav·:
âYeah, Iâm still curious as to how they managed that. Especially considering Peyton has never been in the field and your sister has never been involved with us at all.â Her brows furrowed in thought wondering if they had help from outsiders and just not said anything. âShould we be worried that theyâve suddenly got a lot braver? Theyâve not gone to this extreme before Alec. You could have all been killed.â Octavia was doing all she could to control her emotions and her temper to refrain what she really wanted to say. âOh really, you think?â Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she glared at him. âWe work better as a team. We always have.â It was at that point that her frustration got the better of her. While he was staring at the computer, Taviaâs hand twisted slightly as she created one of her portals right beneath where his stool was placed. She stood smirking with a raised brow as she watched it disappear before closing it quickly.
âIncredible luck.â Alec said, though honestly he imagined it was more than luck and a credit to Peytonâs abilities. His sister, though, he still wasnât quite sure how to feel about that one. Obviously, he didnât want her involved in any of this given what had already happened to their brother. âBut I donât want them in the field again.â He said simply, though it was probable that he neednât have said it aloud. Alec leaned back in his chair and sighed. âI think we should definitely be cautious now that theyâve got braver.â He said -- they couldnât afford to worry. But they could afford to put more precautions in place. âI donât know what their goal was -- whether it was death, since the school and pool were a bit extreme, or maybe they were looking to see how some of us could get out of those situations.â It wasnât a leap to assume that they wanted to scope out the abilities of certain individuals. âYou just canât get enough of me, can you?â Alec joked in response to her comment. However, he soon paid for it when he felt himself quickly plummeting to the ground with a painful thud. With a groan, he leaned back until his back was against the floor as well and he was looking up Tavia. âNow that was childish. But I guess I deserved it...â He said, lifting an arm and a plastic gun forming in his hand. When his finger pulled the trigger, a countless stream of bubbles floated upwards toward her.Â
