The MAN's Cardigan
Who better to take the lead than Missoni? Drake, himself, is an avid devotee.
The family run Italian brand founded in 1953, known for their knitwear and signature zig zag patterns has created an incredible piece and for only $1,270, think of it as a great Fall investment.
The Missoni Shawl-Collar wool blend cardigan is just the right amount of casual and sophistication all in one.
Replace the tired out blazer with this muted wool and mohair-blend, cream and navy belted cardy, that goes with just about anything, and you'll be set.
Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself. It is available at MrPorter.com

No ° 001 _____________________ Lifestyle, by a Gentleman.
The recession is over! Let us rejoice! Not so fast you say? Pish Posh. Now, more than ever is when we as gentlemen need to explore this beautiful city. The economy has thrown all of us in a cup and rattled us around like Yahtzee dice. It's a whole new playing field out there. Let's take the time to see what this new, post recession era has in store for us.
Everybody is a bit more frugal these days, so this city HAS to have something to offer those of us that don't make six figures, right? This article is going to be a guide for fun in Los Angeles. I hope you join in and help me give the finger to the past two years.
Gentlemen, let's have fun.

Arthur Trujillo- 21, Los Angeles, CA
Arthur, above, is known to "always dress for the occassion". He is wearing:
A crisp blazer with a pair of white shorts (Michael Kors pants, cut into shorts), H&M cotton shirt, aviators, & luggage color leather dress shoes with no socks.
He says, "Do keep in mind the weather was hot where I was. (Las Vegas, Nevada)." Regardless of where he was, this entire look has sophistication written all over it. It's casual yet polished. The right look for any weather.
Who is Arthur Trujillo?
"I studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (Los Angeles), where I majored in Merchandise Marketing. After graduating from FIDM in 2009, I was presented with the opportunity to work with a new wholesale/design company (I was one of the first hires), where I am the Production Coordinator/Wholesale Sales Assistant. It has been an exciting & advantageous opportunity to begin my career with a new and successful company. It has presented me with the opportunity to continue and learn so much outside of school, while also being able to work in different departments; and be exposed to the many career options that are actually in our industry."
Hobbies?
"I am quite the socialite (like most of us in the fashion industry). I enjoy: traveling, nightlife, dancing, music, art, dining, friend time, and anything spontaneous."
What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe?
"My favorite piece in my wardrobe would have to be my Moschino Jacket (pictured on Arthur below), which I found at a 2nd hand store for $35 bucks. This jacket really expresses my personal style, positive outlook, and exotic personality (and it fits perfectly)."
What is your inspiration?
"I am all about inspiration. To be successful we must be inspired, and inspiration is everywhere; although that may sound cliché, it is true. I find a lot of my inspiration through: fashion blogs, nature, life, friends, family, traveling, reading, pictures, people watching etc.. I also believe in “Law of Attraction,” and that a positive mindset is the key to success!"
Favorite places to shop?
"Everywhere! Thrift stores, Diesel, Urban Outfitters, H&M, D&G, Nordstrom, GILT.COM"
Do you have what it takes to be our next "Well Edited Citizen"? You never know who we find next in the streets, so always be prepared to show us what you've got.

Burberry Prorsum Fall/winter 2010 Collection
No ° 001 ____________
What's Trending Now?...
Christopher Bailey Never disappoints! Burberry Prorsum's Menswear Fall/Winter 2010 collection is clearly jaw dropping, giving all men across the globe inspiration. The collection exhibits over sized peacoats, and leather and shearling jackets. Many of the pieces in this collection are military inspired with a color pallette of muted tones and olives. The distress laced-up mid boot gave the collection a bit of an edge that a 9-5 business man can appreciate as well as your hipsters/rockers who dig the indie scene. The mid leather boots do not have a controversial ugg look and does not come up too high, making this look very fashion forward without losing it's masculine appeal. This ready-to-wear collection is a must have!

Tips from Menswear Asst. Market Analyst, Teri T.
Sometimes in life, the answers ARE in the back of the book, and this is one instance.
Teri T. (shown below, far right with the infamous Tommy Hilfiger and her friend), a recent FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) Graduate and current student at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology), has begun working for a renowned company, The Doneger Group, as an Asst. Market Analyst in Menswear & Kidswear.
The Doneger Group is “an essential resource to the retail, manufacturing and fashion communities” (Doneger.com). Founded in 1946, they are the leading source of global trend, merchandising, retail and market information.
I got a moment to speak to Teri, about some fashion advice she has, for a group she spends all day researching, Men.
-What is a BIG trend dominating in Menswear right now?
In Menswear the trends we see or will be seeing are classic, preppy and ‘back to basics’. The thing with menswear is that there’s never a drastic change, as far as “trend”, like it is for women’s. But dominating the streets of New York are these men who are well-polished and well-groomed. Their clothes FIT them. That’s important… the fit!
Pants (non-denim) are slimmer (not skinny, SLIM-fit), some even cuffed at the ankle…paired with boat shoes.
The skinny ties are still going strong.
Shirts are fitted classic oxfords or classic V neck tops; no crazy prints – if so, it’s updated gingham or checks, smaller… more subtle plaids even; add on’s are in small details… front pockets or epaulettes on military-inspired shirts; blazers are TAILORED, of course.
Overall a very classic, simple, preppy, Americana looks.
-How can one achieve the look?
Simple, go to J-Crew. Their men’s department got it right.
-Where should a man shop for the must-haves?
Like I said, Men’s J-Crew, has got it right. Oh… and I’m a fan of Zara, impeccable taste and extremely affordable.
-What can we expect to see in menswear come winter?
Great solids… lighter neutrals. Tones of light brown, camel, tan, some grays.
KEY PIECE: All men should invest in a great classic trench for winter.
You heard it straight from the experts mouth. Simplicity is your best bet, yet ALWAYS incorporate your own personality into your wardrobe. It shows confidence and a sense of self. Now that's hot!

Q+A with Fashion Designer Yotam Solomon
There is nothing more refreshing than an artist who stays true to their vision, and I believe there is no better art than the ones that come alive, such as fashion. Yotam Solomon, a very well known and incredibly talented young designer, who is famed by his fascinating and unique pieces in Woman’s Ready to Wear and Footwear, has started working on his new venture in Menswear, to be available this winter.
I got an opportunity to steal a couple of moments out of his schedule, to ask for him to share some important tips on style.
-What was your inspiration?
Yotam Solomon: I tend to draw inspiration from Nature and cultural issues, for example my new collection for Spring 2011 is inspired by the Oil Spill as I try to raise awareness to this catalyst and at the same time create something inspirational out of a disaster. There is so much beauty in the world, while unfortunately many of these magnificent natural treasures are in danger and it our duty to make a difference. It’s my goal to work through fashion by advocating different causes and supporting hard working charities.
-What staple product should men invest in?
YS: Staple pieces for Men are the Basics and their mix and match items. We all have our individuate style and some of us need some help and direction in executing it. I think that there are a few items any Man should have in his closet that goes all the way from the perfect suit -that is not your father's suit, to the perfect jeans or even T shirt. In my new Men's wear collection I try to create pieces that are not as common being that it’s always out of the box, yet still consists of chic aspects.
-What colors would be more complimenting for men?
YS: Neutrals and metallic pastels, along with the Staple colors such as Black, Navy, Calderon... When Men dress and choose their ensembles its important not to appear too feminine (Women have the best of both worlds). I think that color splashes are great but need to be edited accordingly.
There are many options but when it comes to color its more of a trend when choosing unusual colors.
-Where can men find your line?
YS: Our Men's line is available to be ordered directly from our company, where we will have it added to our official site www.yotamsolomon.com around this coming Holiday season. My company cares for private clientele where we create made to order requests and its my true pleasure to hand craft custom designs for my amazing clients. We receive orders via appointment, email, and phone.
-What are "Yotam Solomon's Rules of Style for men?"
YS: Rules for style are easier than most people think!
It’s important for me to mention that before you can ever buy the right clothes for yourself, you must understand what your style is. This is the reason why so many of us need help. If you have a problem figuring out your style I suggest a great exercise where you take a piece of paper write you name and draw a circle around it, then you need to write what it is that you like about fashion... For example- chic, tailored, urban, beach wear, and even more specially colors, textures, and garment types.
From all of those different elements your style can be recognized by an expert, there are many stylists and designers you can consult with to make yourself standout. We would be happy to help you as well [email protected]
After recognizing your style it is very simple: A. Only buy it if you LOVE it. B. Only buy it if it fits you perfectly. C. Remember to ask your close friends or life partner as they will tell you the truth.
There is no one better to get advice from, than an authentic gentleman like Yotam. He is true to his word and mission, and of course has immaculate style. He delivers what most can only dream of, and I for one, can’t wait to see what more he has in store.
Check out Yotam Solomon's new capsule collection for Fashion Stake, after collaborating with Victoria Beckham for LG.
At FashionStake you can buy affordable stocks for a limited time, these are Fashion Stocks that you can purchase and accumulate amazing perks.
These exclusive items can also be pre-ordered, that way you get to choose special details and colors making you the taste maker!
Keep up to date with Yotam Solomon by following him on Facebook and Twitter.
