Holden sighed, looking at the other person. “Sorry, sorry, my car has broken down, I haven’t stopped here on purpose.”
Oli looked down at his blood stained shaking hands. The last hour had been a blur… but it had to be done. At least what he told himself. The man had deserved it. He had to protect his friends. But Oli a few weeks ago never would’ve done this. He heard the knock on the toilet door. “I’ll be a minute!!! Maybe even 20 seconds just uh…” He looked around for a way to hide his hands. “Who is it?”
“Don’t be alarmed but I think I smell blood,” the vampire said, his dark eyes scanning around him.
There were local-run coffee shops in whiteash on every other block - not that Angie was complaining. Different shops sold different things, and her - along with the other interns, and even the mayor - loved to shake things up and try something different every once and a while. She ended up in a shop she’d never been in before, but seemed to be quite popular. It was nice to see so many people in such a comfy-cozy place, all there for their morning fix of caffeine, sugar, and carbs. The line had been long when she’d first arrived, but it was out the door now, the wait time growing exponentially as the world awoke to the scent of freshly-ground coffee beans.
Along with her own order of an iced caramel coffee were the orders for the rest of her town hall crew - she was the one with the most seniority - and all of their respective pastries. Those came out first, the sweet barista behind the counter apologizing for the long wait and giving the raven-haired girl an extra chocolate croissant. It was a sweet surprise, pun not intended. However, the problem was that she didn’t need the croissant, and no one else at work did either. So, after a moment of looking around, she simply offered it to the person closest to them with a little smile. “ Excuse me - did you possibly want a chocolate croissant ? ” she asked them, holding up the little brown bag. “ The barista gave me an extra one, for the long wait and stuff. But I actually got a pastry all ready. ” This sort of thing didn’t happen very often, but when it did, she more often than not wanted to make someone else’s day a little brighter too.
Sera heard the crash from the back room of her gallery, without another word she hun up from her phone, moving quickly. “Oh my god,” she breathed, the front window was shattered, glass spread across the floor. “Who… the fuck… who’s there?” She carefully stepped to the broken window, though she couldn’t see anyone.
“Listen to me, I have never seen a bite like that in my life. I swear. And I…” She paused. “I know I am making myself sound crazy.”
“I’m under increasing pressure to cancel this years Carnival.” He sighed. “I don’t know, i used to love that as a kid. I think we should probably just put a curfew out on full moon nights. What do you think?”
Bryan rubbed his arm, it had been a long time since he’d lost control but he’d burnt his arm pretty badly. He winced as he pulled his jumper down, hiding it. “You’d think in light of everything, my family would’ve cancelled this stupid cocktail party. But no… here I am posting last minute invites like an idiot.” He held the envelope out. “Please just take it so i can leave.”
“The woods is so loud tonight.” She looked around the empty clearing, walking through it with ease. “I remember walking through here as a girl?” She tilted her head at the stranger. “Not much brings people here…. can i help you?”
Austin made his way through the town square with his few groceries, his eyes scanning around him. It had been a few years since he’d been back to the small town he’d grown up in and now he was here to stay. At least for now. He wasn’t going to turn down running his own law firm.
He stopped, his eyes scanning over the flyers in the window of a store. “What’s with stay out of the woods sign?” he asked, raising a brow.
“I just need to know if the problem in the woods has been taken care of. I heard some kids at school daring each other to go there tonight, as stupid as it seems, so I gotta call their parents and warn them.”
“I’m informing everyone. Don’t worry,” he said gently, his eyes soft as he spoke. “Have you seen anything strange in the woods? Just… anything out of the ordinary? And if you do, please don’t linger around the area. It’s safer to be indoors. Especially at night.”
Laurie had never seen a wolf that close before. She’d never seen a wolf that big before. She’d spent most of her life in the city but she’d never imagined she’d see a wolf so close to town. Her breaths were ragged as she ran, she let out a little squeal when she saw someone. “Sorry, sorry. I’m a little shaken. The eyes… looked directly at me. I swear,” she rambled, her words all broken by her breathing.
━ Books violently ejected themselves from shelves and the bookcases rattled for a few seconds before stopping like nothing. “fuck sake!” Kim barked, staring down at the fallen items. She had only stood up on her tippy toes to reach desired book on the top shelf. Apperently today had other plans: her powers had been slightly off all day. Sighing heavily in defeat she stooped to pick the books up. “can i get a break, just once!?” @thewhiteashchronicle
Having only just arrived in town and gotten settled, Leo had been finding it a challenge not to look completely lost; after all, he was indeed completely lost. He stood paused now in front of a street sign, eyes narrowed at it as if he might will it to transform under his gaze. It did not. But the wandering had, at the very least, succeeded in making him look like a tourist bumbling unawares into a warzone. Which perhaps was exactly what he was.
“Um, excuse me, I don’t mean to bother you, but I’m looking for this address?” He flagged down the first passerby he saw and held up the creased letter in his hand to point to the fading letterhead. “I…uh, I don’t really know the area. Could ya point me there?”
Eli held her neck as she stumbled through the town. Red liquid covering her hand. She’d been bitten… she’d been asking too many questions lately. She stumbled onto the building her red hand leaving a mark on the brick. “Help… help me please.”
Sera found herself walking faster and faster the closer she got to her street. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being followed. “Being crazy, you’re being crazy, Sera,” she breathed out loud, trying to focus on the music in her headphones. She jumped, seeing a figure though as her eyes adjusted, she realised it was someone familiar. “Thank god.”
