        What exactly happened, he’s not sure. One moment he was feeling fine, fighting in his best like he always does. The next, some cheap shot has him welcoming that all too familiar void. He really shouldn’t know it so well. How many deaths is this now? He’s lost count. He’s starting to feel like a cat what with his nine lives. 

        Something brings him back. A lot quicker than it usually does, in fact. He welcomes the rush of sound with a wince, eyes blinking open just in time to hear the ‘Cheers, Darling' that alerts him to whoever was nearby. 

                           ”And where the hell —— “

        Dean groans, sitting up with effort as his eyes find the man not far off. 

                                            “Do you think you’re going?”

         Of course no game was ever truly complete without that unexpected glitch at the end. Honestly, why the hunter was in such a blasted hurry to get back on earth that he couldn't even wait a hot minute to allow Kol to exit the scene was beyond the ex-original. Talk about rude and untimely.

         Kol kind of wished he was still a vampire at this point. As such he would have had the liberty to simply ignore the other and carry about his day unbothered by his morning diversions.. As a mortal he had to take more precautions. This form was vulnerable, after all and if this days events had proven anything it was that this human behind him was a) persistently annoying pain in the ass and b) a bad person to keep your back turned to. Twisting around, Kol took a single step forward before crouching. He met the hunters gaze with the fierce inconvenience of their little chat scrawled out clearly in his features.

"Honestly love?"

 " —Wherever the hell I damn well please."

"For that's the beauty of life after death, isn't it? A novelty sense of freedom and euphoria for being back in the land of the living——"

"It would be such a shame if you were to go and lose all that so soon after getting back, wouldn't it?"

          A protection spell was the least Kol could do. After all he was the reason this hunter died. Even so, he felt completely justified as he went through the fallen mans personal effects until he found a small token he liked and pocketed it as payment, standing up afterwards.

     The other male was lucky Kol found his fighting amusing enough to wish to see it again otherwise he'd be as permanently dead as the bodies littered around him.

The pull of energy in his core was all Kol needed to know that the spell was working. In moments this stranger would revive and he would better be gone, so the ex-original spun on his heels and began the feat of making himself scarce.
