Ruby grinned from ear to ear as she looked at Pyrrha. âGreat! Oh, and donât worry about not doing well, itâs practice, remember?â She giggled with glee before she cleared her throat. âHow about tomorrow? I know itâs a half day of classes for me, but if you canât find the time then itâs okay.â
Humming as she opened her sketch book, Ruby then lifted a pencil and started to scribble a small scene of herself and Pyrrha, but as chibis. âThis will be so cool! Can you imagine flying into battle? The Grimm wonât know what to do!â
Thatâs true, Pyrrha agreed. The thought reminded her of simpler times, when the more important things didnât involve fighting Grimm or avoiding unwanted questions but rather waiting impatiently for her wings to get big enough so that she could start practicing flying with her father. He had always laughed whenever heâd come across her trying to get her wings to flap enough to actually lift her off the ground.
Rubyâs next words brought her back to the present, and she blinked quickly, bringing up a mental list of what classes she had tomorrow. It wasnât as bad as some days, but she still had class till two in the afternoon. My classes wonât end until two, she replied, but after that Iâm free.
The red-haired Faunus hesitated, not sure exactly how much time Ruby would be willing to devote to this exercise. If thatâs too late for you, she rushed to explain, thinking that perhaps her friend might have other things to do with her teammates, I understand. We can always try another day!
And she certainly wouldnât want Ruby to give up an opportunity to spend with her teammates if the younger girl was going to be stuck helping her instead. She watched Ruby return to sketching, picking up the sketchbook bearing her own small doodles in return, flipping to another page and observing the blankness of it for a moment. Well, she replied, not trying to dampen Rubyâs enthusiasm by any means, there are always Nevermores and such, but I do think theyâd be surprised to see something else flying around up there with them!
âTwo sounds great!â Ruby laughed softly before she gave Pyrrha a thumbs up. âWeâll have this down in no time! Weâll be like, the most awesome huntresses ever!â The excitement Ruby had ebbing off her was like crashing waves on a shore, it nearly had the small teen jumping up and down. âIâll tell Yang so she wonât worry because sometimes she wants me to stay in the dorm when she goes out so she doesnât have to worry.â
Watching Pyrrha return to her own blank page, Ruby snickered at Pyrrha comment. âTrue, but I think weâd be faster then them so we could totally take them by surprise and getâem!â
A sudden ringing on Rubyâs scroll made her jump before she answered it, the worried face of Yang showing up. âHey, Yang!â
âRuby!? I told you not to run off before you finish your chores in the room. If i have to hold Weiss back another time I swear sheâll freeze my feet to the ground.â
âOh! sorry! I forgot!â ruby gasped, then turned to Pyrrha. âI have to go! Thanks for hanging out with me, Pyrrha! You can keep the pencils!â She quickly said, speeding off in a flurry of petals.
