Ally smiles as the woman comes out from the back, a little, white bit of toothpaste still on the edge of her lip. She seemed a little disorganized, but in the organized chaos kind of way and Ally thought she seemed exactly like the person who would and should run a magic shop. “That’s okay,” she said with a light laugh.
“Okay, so, long story short, in my life I get into danger a lot and that indirectly puts my fiancé in danger and I try to protect him, but it’s hard to do so much at once, so I was hoping there was something in here that could help protect him when I can’t…is there?”
Sera nods as she listens to the young woman’s story, already mentally flipping through grimoires. “Yeah, I can definitely help, but before I figure out the best solution for you, I’m going to need you to answer a couple of questions. First what are your names, both yours and his; second, is there a type of jewelry or accessory that he wears often; third, do you love him?”
Ally nodded and stood up a little straighter as if these questions were like a test. She wanted to answer them correctly; after all, Daniel’s safety may ride on how she replied. “My name is Ally– well, Allison, but I go by Ally– and his name is Daniel. He wears bracelets the most, but I think he’d wear a ring too.” She was a little shocked by the third question, but answered it nonetheless. “Of course I do.”
“Well, hi Ally, nice to meet you, I’m Sera--well, Serafina, but I go by Sera.” She gives a little wave. “The reason I asked if you love him is that the spell I have in mind isn’t going to work unless your love for him is pure, from the heart. But I believe you; it takes a lot for someone to come to a witch on behalf on another person.” Sera walks out from behind the counter and weaves her way through some shelves, stopping near a window and pulling down a tall wooden jewelry display. She runs her finger through the bracelets and necklaces hanging from it, eventually settling on a small band of onyx beads. “This’ll do.” She returns to Ally. “Will this do?”
