The Wives Book

I started this blog as a newly engaged woman. I planned my wedding through the ideas and inspiration of the web and many other blogs. I am now officially a married lady (as of June 12, 2010). I now am going to focus on myself and using my blog to take you through my life as a wife, a friend, a daughter, a creator, and a planner. I will continue to post about weddings and events, because I have such a passion for planning the BIG day. I look forward to embarking on new recipes, new home projects and all that comes with this next phase as a newlywed. Enjoy the ride with me! I am been MIA because my baby son takes up a lot of my time. He smiled for me for the first time at 5.5 weeks and my heart melted. I am enjoying spending all my days with this little one even though it's the hardest job I've ever had.

Change of plans....we are having a BOY!

I guess you could say that life is unpredictable, I learned this first hand last week when I learned the baby I was carrying was not the little girl the doctors had thought.

Her room was decorated, clothes were hung in her closet and we were actively talking about our little girl we would meet in a couple months. After a 4D ultrasound to see our little girl more in depth we quickly learned that it was not a little girl at all. After the shock wore off and I grieved the "idea" of my little girl a lesson has been learned.

Trust your gut, no matter what it tells you. Follow your heart and don't judge yourself because of the feelings you are having. It is okay to feel sad about something you lost, as long as you look forward and realize how fortunate you are for all you have.

Our little boy will join the family in 2 short months, and as I adjust to answering, "I'm having a boy" I know whatever gender our baby is, it will be the most loved, adored and wonderful addition to our lives.

24 hours from now.....

We should now the gender of our baby!!

We are so excited to get the news and begin picturing our future with a little boy or little girl!! Not sure how I will sleep tonight.

We have a running joke in my household and among family that this is how I will introduce our baby to the world. No boring "nice to meet you baby" here! The music will be on for 'Circle of Life' and we plan on turning the hospital room into a Karaoke bar....at least for a moment or two.

20 more weeks to go folks before we get to see this performance!!!

FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Vintage Whimsical Inspired Reception

Cassidi’s Vintage Whimsical Inspired Reception was the winner of last weeks FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest. I love the idea of vintage furniture at weddings and the vintage couch in the inspiration board matched the color scheme perfectly. Colorful streamers, like the ones attached to the bride & groom chairs, is a way to portray the whimsical side of the theme. I also included a stream-like rug that matched the color scheme and I like it because I can picture combining 4 together and using them for an indoor photo booth backdrop or as decor for the candy bar table that Cassidi plans to have. It’ll make a great DIY project!
