As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better.

December
I keep seeing memes about how hard it is being a teacher in December and I just can’t relate.
Sure, being a teacher is hard ALL THE TIME, but give me December over, I don’t know, October, any time.
At its longest, December is a three workweek month. October is, at its best, only slightly shorter than Fidel’s reign over Cuba.
In December, people bring in delicious snacks pretty much from the get. In October, you have to plod along through several hundred days before so much as a mini-Snickers makes an appearance.
October is at that awkward time, after approximately 72 consecutive weeks with no break, when students have definitely gotten over that “honeymoon phase” and are settling into that “Lord of the Flies” phase instead.
In December, student behavior is affected by forces outside of the classroom. Young students still believe someone knows when they are being bad or good, so they have motivation to be good for goodness sake. And teenagers know they are about to be home with their families for two weeks, so their grades better not be too, too terrible. Furthermore, most of them work retail, so they are pretty much just the walking dead at this point in the holiday shopping season anyway. When they fall asleep, good teachers will take away writing implements, so they do not poke themselves.
Yes, there can be an uptick in student excitement, and a down tick in student buy-in this time of the year. But, I have it in me to rise above that when I can so easily see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Around here, this is my last Monday for a little while. And that is the greatest gift of all.
Happy Holidays!
Perspective
I totally agree. Give me December over October or April any day!
Both October and December are preparation for the March to Memorial Day stretch between spring break and the end. It’s a freaking marathon.
Democrats right now.
It's not even about contesting the election results like how the fuck do people not understand this. Federal investigation won't even change the election results, Jesus Christ.

“What do you fear, lady?” Aragorn asked.
“Surface-level anti-femenist interpretations of my character,” Éowyn said. “To kill a major antagonist and then to become a healer and have people say that it’s because I’m a woman or something. I’m a complex character.”
Let’s help those in need in Aleppo right now.
On December 12th, over 100,000 people in East Aleppo were trapped in a 5 square kilometer range as they were being bombarded by airstrikes from Russia and the Syrian government to attempt to overtake the rebel-held area. “The Russia-backed ground offensive, which began on November 26, followed an intensive aerial bombing campaign that knocked out most of the medical facilities, targeted civil defence and municipal vehicles and blocked roads with rubble.” The world is sitting and watching a genocide happen before their eyes as civilians are being massacred. Families posted on various social media platforms to say their final goodbyes.
A huge thing we can do is spread the word as quick as possible to raise awareness! Below are a list of charities, I have researched these and listed how much of your donation gets to use. Please add to the conversation and research on your own so we can find the best charities.

Doctors Without Borders/Medecins sans Frontieres: “Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality.” 80% of your donation goes into relief/ supplies.

The White Helmets: Syrian Civil Defense rescue volunteers who literally go unarmed into the most dangerous situations. Since there are not very many functioning public services left, they respond to the more than 50 bombings a day in some neighborhoods, and pull out whoever they can. They’re at a huge risk because repeat bombings are common. These people are the literal last defense some Syrians have. At last count, they’ve saved 73, 350 lives. The situation is dire and desperate and this is immediate, front lines relief. Please consider donating.

I also sell items on www.arabstreet.co and will be donating $10(CDN) of each sale until the end of 2016.
