The C0rruption Event: Currently happening

- something is wrong with BM and no one knows why this is happening. He's been less happy, fatigued, and is somehow suffering from an illness.. He sounds almost encrypted, as if he's just a piece of code that was corrupted. A file. He's been losing weight slowly, with the problem being a lack of appetite because of his illness. It's up to the other Survivors and the Anons and everyone else to figure out what exactly is going on and stop it before it's too late.

The quiet sizzling of grass suddenly became noticeable. Soft crunch and sizzle of leaves after another. They were slow paced steps, something you could catch definitely. The steps were uneven and wrong. They sounded wrong. Why was anything sizzling?

Either way whatever it was didn't have good movement coordination and probably couldn't get away if it needed.

A gurgle emits from the creature, quiet yet noticeable. It was looking for something, someone. It was obvious by how its head swiveled around each step it took.

His footing had slipped again, and he grasped a tree next to him, scrabbling to stay upright. It was so hard to walk, he felt like a clumsy newborn calf learning how for the first time. He sighed and lifted his head to the stars above him.

It was a calm and quiet night, and surprisingly clear. Usually you wouldn't even be able to see the stars with the clouds desperately blocking their view. He relaxed his shoulders, and took in a deep breath of that crisp night air..

Then proceeded to cough. It was not the fresh smell he was expecting, but the smell of something gross. The smell of something burning. The smell... Of smoke.

..Yeah, there was smoke in the air around him, yet it seemed much thicker in one direction than the other. He thought for a moment if he should go investigate. Curiosity killed the cat and all, but what if there was something important? Or something interesting? Or food?

So, he decided to follow the faint trails of smoke wafting above his head.

He didn't have to walk very far for him to start hearing the sizzling sounds, then faint trails of burnt grass and small bits of magma strung here and there. It seemed whatever this was is a freak of nature, of some sorts.

And then, he caught a glimpse of bright oranges and reds. It flew like a second sun in the damp, dark greens and blues of the forest. The closer he got, the warmer his body felt. This.. must be the main source.

He decided to try something.]

"..Ahem.. He...hell0."

[..Gods, what was he doing?? How could he be this stupid?]

The human-shaped blob of magma nearly jumped back (it would've if it could've). It fell and turned into a puddle before the man before quickly reforming. He didn't want to see him that way.

He turned to look at the man. Was this who he was looking for? He stepped closer, a hand reaching out to the other but falling to his side.

Its head tilts to the side, eye examining the other.

"bbbuuillldd.." he coughed magma, he crouched down and gripped the supposed fabric of his shirt, then moved his hand to cover his mouth. He frowned seeing the small splatter on the grass, standing up and moving a leg to collect the mass again. "Hhhh-"

[He didn't say anything in response, only watching the glowing orange "man" with cautious eyes. His voice was... Familiar..but he couldn't quite put his claw on it..

He had been mistaken. This wasn't food at all. It didn't even have any meat! This was barely a person to begin with.. but it sounded like it said something.

Something familiar. Why was everything in this damn place so familiar to him???]

"S..Speak up. 1 d1dn't hear y0u..."

[He leaned himself against a tree and stared at the thing, observing its movements.. Did this thing even have a brain?]

He was making no move to be quiet as he trudged his way over to a familiar face, one that he recognizes.

One he has most definitely seen before. Yet.. something felt off.]

"..Chan..ce.."

[He tries to lean on whatever was closest to him, his body still weak. It has been a moment since he had seen the gambler. Wonder if there's anything new going on with him..]

[*Pawn, being Pawn, was already awake and heard the man creeping closer to his cabin. Well... They're not used to the creepy stuff coming to them! That's my job! Well then, his name has been called and he must answer! He chuckles to himself, then shakes his head and swings open the door. Leaning on the side of it with one elbow on the wood.*]

"[Bui-]eeih.."

[*Pawn perked up, straightening his stance out a bit*]

"No ow.. You ve ce ertainly cha anged ha aventcha?"

[*The alternate watched the other carefully. Examining the extent of corruption on his body.*]

[It.. wasn't as horrible as you'd imagine. The once large spikes on his body were only just growing back in, small squints of black just here and there on his body. His hair had grown to be long and unkempt, messy strands poking out everywhere. He.. didn't look as hostile as you'd think.

He took a step closer and clung onto anything near him. He felt like he was going to fall right there, and never get up. He was so fucking tired..]

"..mm. same t0.. y0u.."

[He sucks in a breath and pulls himself up straight. He blinked slowly and refocused his eyes on the familiar man in front of him.]

[*The alternate stepped forward to offer some support, jeez.. Look at the guy! He could only imagine how painful thats gotta be.*]

Guess the lord has more different ideas of perfect than I thought. No- this isnt the lord this is..

[*On closer examination he saw the little spikes, figuring maybe he shouldnt grab that arm for now.*]

Ah, funny timing.

"Hmm.. Gue ess we bo oth got hi it by life, hu uh? I am cu urious though.. Wha at are you do oing here?"

[He rested his claws on one shoulder of the man, even though all he wanted to do at this point was to sink into the warmth of his arms. He felt so tired.]

"...1 walked.. and.. my feet led me..here."

"Sh0uld 1..g0..?"

[He didn't want to. He really, really didn't want to leave. Something in him told him he had to search for.. something.. but what? And why did he walk here? Gods, his brain was so fuzzy, not to mention all these flashbacks he had been getting..]

[*Pawn helped him up the old withered steps, shaking his head no.*]

"Na ah, stay. Do ors are a always open fo or a frie nd!"

[*They knew it'd be a bit messy- but in David's current state? He was sure he wouldnt mind.*]

"Su urprised, tha ats all.. That yer fe et lead ya here, ta m me. A altho ough.. I'on mi ind it!"

[His grip was tight on Chance, and he stumbled a bit as he went up the stairs. He was like a newborn trying to learn how to walk, except it had the body of a god.]

"Gah.. r..r1ght.. fr1end..s.."

[The words felt so foreign on his tongue. Everything was hazy. So he tried to keep himself grounded on whatever he could. His grip was tight around Chance, the warmth sinking into David's skin and relaxing his own body. It was so nice he almost wanted to dig into him.]

"..Be1ng.. s0 k1nd... t0 me."

"Ha ahaa.. Re elax pal. Sa ame team, m'o on yer si ide here."

[*It was like he could read his mind. In a way, he could. They understood the mans urge to tear away into everything. Mindlessly. Teeth ripping in an animalistic way.*]

Pawn lead him to the couch, resting him there*]

"The ere ya go.. Ni iice n'co omfy!"

[He allowed himself to be led into the cabin, shifting his glance away from the lively corpse the kind man in front of him as to not make anything worse.. wait.. why did he care about that? He had always had the mindset of being number one, not caring about anyone or anything besides yourself. Why did this friend of his matter to him?

Slowly, he pulled his body down on the couch, assembling himself in a laying position. He grunted as he pulled himself down, the pain of the torn-out corruption still Adamant beneath every bandage, every wound.]

"ugh... Th..thank y0u.."

[...Why was he here again..? Oh, right.]

"Sseeeee e? There! Ye er welcome."

[*He smiled, it didn't seem too friendly though. Casting a shadow over his face. They circled the couch, examining every spike on the others body. Now he could've sworn-*]

"[Builds], ri ight? Or ya go ot a new fa ancy name ye t?"

[*For some reason.. Name changes were a common trend when you become perfect. What was that like- perfect names for a pefect person*]

[He slowly closed his eyes and let out consecutive shallow breaths, the only way he felt like he could really take in oxygen anymore. He rested a hand on his head, the splitting headache only getting worse as he tried to think, think of.. anything.]

"..Mem0ry.. has been.. fa1l1ng me."

[He opened his eyes wearily and blinked away pthe fuzziness in his vision. He pulls his own claws back through his hair and shifts his head to the side, making slight eye contact with the man above him. Why did it feel so eerie in here..?]

[*Locking eyes with him wouldn't tell him much...other than the fact that this man changed. Pawn took a quick seat down on the couch beside him, crossing one leg over the other and grinning a bit more wide with some carefree demeanor.*]

"Y'kno ow.. It a aint that bad! M'n o do oct or but id sa ay ya go ot bette er perks than me e!"

[*They rested his head on his claw, huffing a soft chuckle*]

[He didn't move, but his claws in his free hand twitched and clenched in open and closed fists. His body had been so antsy since the last time he had a proper meal .. how long has that been? 2 weeks? 3? It was hard to keep track.]

[He shakes his head slowly and digs his claws into his own head agitatedly. He could feel the pain, but it would never ever be any worse than the pulsating headache wracking through every inch of his skull.]

[He seemed to react strongly to the name, as his body wound up, shoulders tight, and kept his fists clenched. He pulled in a shuddering breath.]

[...Whatever has happened, it must've been bad for him to react like that. He let out the deep sigh in his throat and lowered his gaze to the wooden floorboards.]

[*Pawn smiled at the mans behavior, in some twisted way. They already were planning to meet the man. Seeing his work in person was even better...*]

[He shifted himself away from Chance's claws, the feeling of.. anything touching his spikes still too much, as they were still growing back in from the mutilation he had to endure.

"..s0me0ne.. wanted me t0 f1nd.. a man named Shedletsky.. ss1nce he c0uld 'help me'... but when 1 d1d, th1ngs.. went.. well.."

[He falls silent, the memory of a supposedly close strangers back being ripped to shreds as another tore its way out of him like he was just a cocoon.]

[*They coo, circling the couch and running off to grab something quickly. He comes back with a med kit! Fishing around inside it for anything he could use.... This feels familiar. They pause, almost instinctively reaching for the bandage, then shake their head and resume.*]

[He watched as the man zoomed off and came back surprisingly fast with a fresh, brand new medkit. Hesitantly, he relaxed his body and let the man do his job, feeling the newfound pressure as more and more bandages were added to his body.

This was an odd feeling.. the idea that this guy... And that Shedletsky guy.. the idea that they actually cared about him. He thought nobody did, but..]

"Hmm.."

[He felt.. good. He felt relaxed. But there was something here that was almost making him uneasy..]

[He didn't move, but his claws in his free hand twitched and clenched in open and closed fists. His body had been so antsy since the last time he had a proper meal .. how long has that been? 2 weeks? 3? It was hard to keep track.]

"...1 can.. barely remember why.. 1 g0t them 1n.. the f1rst place.."

[He shakes his head slowly and digs his claws into his own head agitatedly. He could feel the pain, but it would never ever be any worse than the pulsating headache wracking through every inch of his skull.]

[*He kept an eye on his claws, they made a mental note to be careful about those.*]

[He seemed to react strongly to the name, as his body wound up, shoulders tight, and kept his fists clenched. He pulled in a shuddering breath.]

[...Whatever has happened, it must've been bad for him to react like that. He let out the deep sigh in his throat and lowered his gaze to the wooden floorboards.]

[*Pawn smiled at the mans behavior, in some twisted way. They already were planning to meet the man. Seeing his work in person was even better...*]

[*They chuckled, gently resting his claw on a spike*]

[He shifted himself away from Chance's claws, the feeling of.. anything touching his spikes still too much, as they were still growing back in from the mutilation he had to endure.

He didn't respond to Chance's little comment, simply swiveling his gaze away from Chance and to the wall near himself and the couch.]

"..Can y0u.. help? Me? 1.. need help."

[These words still felt.. too foreign..]

[*He paused, they weren't expecting... HIM, of all people, to seek help from the alternate. Pawn shifted a bit, sighing.*]

[He pulls himself up into a sitting position on the couch, grunting at the pain in his legs. And his arms. Actually, basically everywhere. He doesn't look at Chance, no, he's to nervous to do that yet. He looks down at his own legs, his own torn body. Some part of him told him he didn't always look like this.]

"..s0me0ne.. wanted me t0 f1nd.. a man named Shedletsky.. ss1nce he c0uld 'help me'... but when 1 d1d, th1ngs.. went.. well.."

[He falls silent, the memory of a supposedly close strangers back being ripped to shreds as another tore its way out of him like he was just a cocoon.]

[*Pawn, being Pawn, was already awake and heard the man creeping closer to his cabin. Well... They're not used to the creepy stuff coming to them! That's my job! Well then, his name has been called and he must answer! He chuckles to himself, then shakes his head and swings open the door. Leaning on the side of it with one elbow on the wood.*]

[*Pawn perked up, straightening his stance out a bit*]

"No ow.. You ve ce ertainly cha anged ha aventcha?"

[*The alternate watched the other carefully. Examining the extent of corruption on his body.*]

[It.. wasn't as horrible as you'd imagine. The once large spikes on his body were only just growing back in, small squints of black just here and there on his body. His hair had grown to be long and unkempt, messy strands poking out everywhere. He.. didn't look as hostile as you'd think.

He took a step closer and clung onto anything near him. He felt like he was going to fall right there, and never get up. He was so fucking tired..]

"..mm. same t0.. y0u.."

[He sucks in a breath and pulls himself up straight. He blinked slowly and refocused his eyes on the familiar man in front of him.]

[*The alternate stepped forward to offer some support, jeez.. Look at the guy! He could only imagine how painful thats gotta be.*]

Guess the lord has more different ideas of perfect than I thought. No- this isnt the lord this is..

[*On closer examination he saw the little spikes, figuring maybe he shouldnt grab that arm for now.*]

[He rested his claws on one shoulder of the man, even though all he wanted to do at this point was to sink into the warmth of his arms. He felt so tired.]

[He didn't want to. He really, really didn't want to leave. Something in him told him he had to search for.. something.. but what? And why did he walk here? Gods, his brain was so fuzzy, not to mention all these flashbacks he had been getting..]

[His grip was tight on Chance, and he stumbled a bit as he went up the stairs. He was like a newborn trying to learn how to walk, except it had the body of a god.]

[The words felt so foreign on his tongue. Everything was hazy. So he tried to keep himself grounded on whatever he could. His grip was tight around Chance, the warmth sinking into David's skin and relaxing his own body. It was so nice he almost wanted to dig into him.]

[He allowed himself to be led into the cabin, shifting his glance away from the lively corpse the kind man in front of him as to not make anything worse.. wait.. why did he care about that? He had always had the mindset of being number one, not caring about anyone or anything besides yourself. Why did this friend of his matter to him?

Slowly, he pulled his body down on the couch, assembling himself in a laying position. He grunted as he pulled himself down, the pain of the torn-out corruption still Adamant beneath every bandage, every wound.]

[He opened his eyes wearily and blinked away pthe fuzziness in his vision. He pulls his own claws back through his hair and shifts his head to the side, making slight eye contact with the man above him. Why did it feel so eerie in here..?]
