“You make it sound like a bad thing, kid - if it pays, I’m in; but, I still ain’t nobody’s lackey. An’, I ain’t got bus’ness with you, either - so, fuck knows why you keep poppin’ up.” Honestly, if Bird Boy actually understood why he did what he did - rather, who he ultimately did it for - he figured his little conscience’d let him spend some recreational time in Bludhaven - preferably, unchallenged; but, he wasn’t too fussed either way. Seriously, did Slade go through all this hassle? “You old enough to drink yet? Or’d you rather make a compromise here ‘n’ now?”

     “What’s your play here, Pretty Boy Floyd?” Dick slightly smirked, though with a raised brow. He wondered why this one wasn’t continuing his pursuit to kill Bruce for his riches. It seemed to be what began their little battles here and there with the marksman. “Last I checked, I’m not some    Star City    tween    trying to get into the    Verdant.This is patrol. I just took out a couple of juiced up Bane gangsters and Sionis has a deal goin’ in the Bowery. The only thing I’m drinking tonight is this caffeinated protein blend, and that’s my night cap.”

“Play? Waller ain’t got shit on me these days, kid - if you knew what that felt like, you’d be goin’ for a drink, too.” If it weren’t for the fact he intended to be a father again in the morning, he’d have easily settled for more than one. These days, though, alcohol did very little to cope with anything - maybe, now, he needed more than just a decent beer to get by. Perhaps, he needed his family. “I’ll be outta your head by the mornin’ - so, quit bein’ my shadow.”

“For once I can gladly say no, Lawton. Though I suspect something will come in the near future. Doesn’t it always?” He smirked. Once under Waller’s thumb she wouldn’t leave you be.

 “How are you?”

“You’re practically her lap-dog - don’t you have anythin’ else to be doin’ with your time off?” After all, it seemed unlikely that Werner would be here by choice, right…? Then again, Belle Reve wasn’t exactly some holiday resort with recreational opportunity… “Same old, same old - only so many times a guy can pace these cells, y'know.”

“Tt.” How that sort of thought got around eluded the Count, however it was certainly untrue. He loathed Waller just as much as anyone else in Belle Reve, however the perks of a government position and the freer reign of his powers kept him from leaving permanently. 

“I’d say that title falls to Faraday more than myself. He’s by her side more than I. And as for how I spend my time; some of us still work outside of missions. I’m merely taking a walk around the compound as a light break.“ Belle Reve may have meant “Beautiful Dream” in french, but it was anything but.

“I’d think any company would be quite a refreshing change for you, Lawton.”

Honestly, he'd long-since gave up questioning how The Wall managed half the shit she did - but, roping in the guidance of the Commissioner's psycho spawn was something else entirely. What a woman. Now, he liked Werner to a certain degree - that is, he'd tolerate his presence far more than the vast majority of those on the Squad - but, that didn't mean there were certain things that really ticked him off. This being one of them. "This you thinkin' for me now? You know what I want - an', I ain't gonna be gettin' it any time soon."

She RARELY spoke in what was regarded as such a crazy language (mostly becuase of its use by her boss The Hatter), but she was clearly NERVOUS in the presence of the weapon — and how the man spoke in such a relaxed tone.

PSA || Villains

I do NOT understand people that want to “save” villains or safe-zone them to “misunderstood babies that just need to fall in love to make it better and therefore be easier to approach.” Do you not understand how much more delicious is it to be bad with no apology? How necessary it is to have a pure polar opposite to heroes and anti-heroes?  Are you forgetting the whole reason you chose a villain as your favorite character was in part, that they WERE bad? Unless a villain is written originally as sympathetic, and the author meant it so, it’s utterly selfish and demeaning to take away their darker aspects to “redeem them.” They may have moments of intimacy with favorites and tender spots for some rare people, but to everyone else, (which is 99% of the world) they will keep doing what they do best, and that’s to fuck everything up and burn the world down. Lover with pillow talk after, or not. And more the better if the special favorites can be brought to THEIR side, or look the other way when they go rogue. Baddies are supposed to be “bad” to show by comparative example:

What NEVER to do; a cautionary tale. 

NOT meant to be emulated or admired. (What does it matter, people gloss over the real horror of some villains to admire one or two good flecks of persona over the mountain of evil that is actually quite TERRIBLE for the world, the fan included.)

The scariest parts of us: the viewer, reader, fan if we “let it go that far,”  but can’t face or admit.

JUST TO BE “BAD” FOR “BAD’S” SAKE NO ALTERNATIVE REASON OTHER THAN THEY UNAPOLOGETICALLY LOVE DOING WHAT THEY DO AND DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK AND HOW THEY CAN BE SAVED IN YOUR WARPED LITTLE LUST FILLED MIND BECAUSE TO BE A GOODY-GOODY IS TO BE THE ANTITHESIS OF THEIR BEING AND THEREFORE SICK AND WRONG TO THEM.

Stop castrating and watering down villains to fulfill your sophomoric fantasies. It’s the equivalent of taking a carnivorous animal like a shark or viper and feeding them a vegan diet. The only difference, is the villain will eat YOU for doing that to them. They will NOT be thankful.
